Conor. Thank you for posting the beautiful tribute to David Spicer. He is from our community, although I did not know him personally. I showed a friend of his this tribute and am wondering if I could have a link just to this post that I could email to him to share with the family. What little ability I have with html etc. has vanished.

Billie and Amy. Sending this to you too in case you can help. Thanks in advance. ((((hugs))))

Thats all I needed to read to open up the flood gates. I have had another rough day, will not explain as you wouldn’t understand. I am still waiting for someone to fix the flat on the Rental car. Its not my dime, they can wait a week if they want to.........never seen anything to beat it. And I wish automated phone call companies were at the booger man’s house!

He’s here! Talk later! A rabbit’s foot brings good luck, I told my friend I was going to start wearing the whole rabbit around my neck....LOL! One more thing, the automatic caller just called and said ‘roadside service’ would be arriving in 15 minutes. He is half finished doing the tire.....I went out there and told him. Thank heaven for small laughs!

Dutchess - Of course you may use it - I don’t know how to get the link for one post but Billie or Amy may know.

Rest in Peace, Gunnery Sgt. David Shane Spicer.
May his family, and all that loved him,
Find comfort and solace in the Word,
And the knowledge that he gave his best.
Semper Fi, SIR!

Here's the link for Conor's tribute post to David Spicer:

Post #1714 ~ Rest in Peace Gunnery Sgt. David Shane Spicer, USMC, KIA 13JUL2009

Conor & dutchess, to get a link to a particular comment post, just right-click on that post number, select properties, and then copy that whole url.
To MAKE that link clickable, the html code looks like this:

<a href= http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2283051/posts?page=1714#1714>whatever you type here will be clickable </a> (the </a> turns off the hot link command.

THAT picture just about does me in, yorkie. And after reading that poem again with today’s opening I was already feeling sad. It had been awhile since I read the poem - see, the calf has grown up by now. :)

That is why I posted the poem “Life” by Emily Bronte’s sister, in #1769, Billie. Courage and Hope overshadow trials in our lives.

Hey ... Did you send your grey clouds over here?

My wireless keyboard is acting up. I changed batteries and I still need to hit some keys 2 or 3 times.

My BIL has been trying to evict a non-paying tenant. What a mess. I have been trying to help him with paperwork. I left something off yesterday so I needed to fill out those forms again.

My FRiendAnn called so I was on phone for more than 30 minutes. Since she cannot go to DC with me, she asked if I had found someone else. (I have.)

I think the hi temp will only be 104 today. Yeah for the weatherman.

Yesterday, Marissa and I went to Jim’s. Marissa got in the pool dressed in a skirt and blouse. She did take off her shoes. She had asked if she could put her feet in the pool. When I went to the bank, I left her with Jim and Sheila. Didn’t think the bank would be happy with a soaked child in their lobby. :)

Seems like everyone is having trouble with their computers. My tech is here right now, trying to see what is wrong with my inoperable, less than a year old, lap-top.

Ahhh ... poor little guy.
Your graphic adds to our opening poem today.
Thank you, Yorkie.

The poem today is sad,
But so good that there is the little boy to take over that job.

Hope you are having a warm, fuzzy Wednesday.

It’s a conspiracy!!! LOL

I think mine might have been a loose cable. I hope that has solved my keyboard trouble.

He just left - it was ‘shorted out’ - whatever that means. (It meant $85 less in my dwindling bank account!)

see, the calf has grown up by now.

Well. Yeah. She may have grown up but she still had issues because she didn't understand that her mother died. She thought that her mother had just gone out bull dozing and left her all alone. Like the little boy in the sad song she was bleating: "please mommy please stay home with me" and, although she didn't die like the little boy in the sad song, she was left emotionally scarred and she would break down and cry every time she heard Eddie Arnold sing the Cattle Call.
