Painting with oil or polyurethane based paints

Google it.
Good Luck.
Hunt them with an old tennis racket, swing hard enough and the strings cut em into 2 or 3 pieces.
Let them organize a union then do something that forces them to go on strike......
A professional will cost you $50.00.
Screwing with them will cause untold pain and failure.
Take your pick. I, eventually, spent $50 bucks.
where are they congregating? Doesn’t smoke usually drive them away?

Right after dark, spray Raid wasp killer directly in the holes.
Damn, we think alike but you're just faster.......LOL!
Well said, Ripley.
The most effective preventative treatment for carpenter bees is a nice glossy coat of paint they don’t like plastic or plastic looking surfaces. To treat for active bees spray a puff of pyrethrum aerosol with a straw into the hole. Then puff the hole with residual dust such as Borid (boric acid) or Delta dust this kills the larva as they hatch then fill hole with wood putty. Mixed results are obtained by misting wood surfaces with a wettable powder or micro-encapsulated residual insecticide but it does make the customer feel better. Carpenter bees are non aggressive and do not sting the most sever damage to wood happens when woodpeckers discover their holes and tear the wood apart to feast on the larva. Hope this helps.
If you want results, go to HD or Lowes. Look in the pesticide section for a box of Amdro ant BAIT. The box is about 6 inches square. Inside are little stakes you put around the foundation of your house every 10-15 feet. Very easy to do. The ant colonies are inside the walls or attic areas of the house and this bait kills them all.
You may have to do it again in 3 months the first time. If you are all organic, I can’t help. I live on a woody acreage and this works for me.

At one time in my life I was convinced that was the solution. It only created many more problems.
Whoops, didn’t realize that picture was so big.
I suggest you wait outside the nest in the morning till after they all leave for work then plug the doorway so they can't get back in when they come home.
Ignore them, they don’t eat much!
FInd their nest during the day, spray it at night with a wasp spray....Keep your distance.....but soak area well.

Growing up in central Georgia, Dad and I used to do the same thing. Those things would grow as big as golf balls.
