It was a mistake to take it back to Walmart. You might get a replacement, but if you had called the phone number on the label, you would have gotten a letter of apology from the company along with coupons for about $20 worth of products.

Are you certain the jar was was sealed - could be a prankster put it in there and closed it tight. Otherwise I vote for some piece of burnt material from the factory. Being burned it would probably be lighter and be jiggled to the top.
