You have a good weekend, too. :-)

Stay dry and keep the mole away from the Compound W. ;-)

You know... I just discovered today that I've heard Kara sing before. She was in a side project of David A. Stewart (of Eurythmics fame) called Platinum Weird. There were two songs I really liked (particularly one covered to better success by Celine Dion, "Taking Chances," but I liked Kara's version slightly better).

Maybe they'll let Kara sing in Wednesday's finale. ;-)

It's because he's so flamboyant and doesn't seem willing or able to dial it back.

Exactly. We all know Adam has talent to sing. But everything he does is this theatrical, showy performance which includes "The Scream" on every song. To take a song like "One" and change it to include that horrific yelp is just uncalled for and really bad! Also, he always looks mean or dramatically sad when he sings, it such a distraction with his bloated face!

Idol Judge Losing Sleep, Could Be More Supportive
American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has admitted that worries over her performance on the show keep her awake at night.

The singer-songwriter, who joined the panel at the beginning of the current season, revealed that she takes her new role extremely seriously and is losing sleep as a result.

Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, DioGuardi explained: “It wakes me up at night. Can you imagine? Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and I thought: ‘I’ve got to look at those performances. Did I clock that one wrong? Why didn’t I say that? I could have been more supportive’.”

DioGuardi’s debut on the hit reality show provoked a mixed response from viewers earlier this year. The star has since decided to avoid reading online forums because she struggled to deal with the criticism.

“I don’t like it. I’m glad that people care that much to hate me. At least they care. But ‘hate’ is a strong word,” she said.

“Yeah probably so, but somehow I doubt Adam will ever have the career that Daughtry has enjoyed.”

Saw Daughtry on TV, he was asked if he was supporting Adam. He said he was a fan of Kris. Quite an endorsement!

Apparently you were in the kitchen when he sang his ballads.

The problem Adam's going to have is trying to find the niche to sell CD's. See, Adam hasn't shown he's a real musician. Adam has shown he can act the song, but he doesn't feel it. That's a huge problem in what he thinks he's going to be able to do, I don't care how good he can sing.

You and I both know Adam SCREAMS on 98% of the songs he's done this season and turned theatrics on all of them. Just because you have range doesn't mean you can make a song. He turned the emotional element of 'Whole Lotta Love' completely around and made into something almost opposite of what it is in a MAD way. 'One' was a mitigated disaster!

Theatrics are dead on the music scene. I say this kid has little success.

I read on MJ’s blog that Jason Mraz is going to be a special guest on the AI finale. Apparently David Cook, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas and Keith Urban are also set to appear. And rumor has it that they are trying to get David Bowie and KISS on the show as well...That’s a pretty diverse group so should be interesting if true.

Oh geez. It’s starting to sound like one of those Super Bowl Half-Time shows a few years ago where they tried to cram in 45 different styles of music into 20 minutes.

“Coming up, it’s our Half-Time Extravaganza featuring Christina Aguilera, Kid Rock, Michael Buble, Chubby Checker, Andre Rieu, AC/DC, George Jones, BeBe & CeCe Winans, George Clinton and P-Funk All-Stars, Cher, Brian Wilson, and The Jonas Brothers. Hosted by Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer.”

From todays Free Press:

'Idol' could learn from 'Dancing'

"What does Ryan Seacrest bring to the "Idol" mix? Well, he attempts to high-five the legally blind contestant."

seasoned perhaps, or paid his dues maybe?

Well I guess it comes down to whether this is an amateur or a professional competition. In which case can Madonna, Taylor Swift, Elton John, etc enter?

everyone has made up there minds, nobody is going to change who they like based on the songs they sing next tues.

I wouldn't be so sure. It is live television and stuff can happen. A performer can stumble and have a bad night or be really in the zone and give an outstanding performance and end up swinging votes. Plus with the finals there will be alot of first time voters and viewers that waited till the end to vote. So nothing should be taken for granted at this stage.

At the beginning of the season after the first ratings came out all the talking heads were saying it is over for AI. Yet were are all those predicting doom and gloom for AI now with AI setting voting records and just now getting into the final. Anything can happen on live TV I don't think it wise to take it for granted someone has it in the tank regardless of who and how they have preformed so far in the show. Everyone thought Chris Daughtry had the competition in the bag and look what happen there. I was completely surprised when he was voted out.
