President Obama said Monday that "only government" can shake the country out of recession, as he tried to settle doubts about his administration's costly economic recovery package during a prime-time press conference.
Obama painted a bleak picture of the state of the economy, as he described scenes "across America" in which job-seekers are standing in long lines for scarce opportunities at employment.
He pointed to such scenes as proof the country is in a "full-blown crisis" and needs a drastic government response. The president warned that a failure to act could "turn a crisis into a catastrophe," and urged lawmakers to get a bill to his desk without delay.

Dick Morris is on O’Reilly he just said that Obama’s speech was a show of his eloquence and good understanding. He must have missed 90% of it, when Obama looked like an old catatonic lady droning on and on about his talking points.
At least O’Reilly called out how boring he was.

That press conference was the longest 4 hours of my life. I wouldn’t have watched at all, but CBS claimed in their lineup just prior that it would only be 1/2 hour and the show I tuned in for (The Big Bang Theory) would be on then. Four hours later, CBS scrapped TBBT and went with the Charlie Sheen show instead. (Very difficult to know where one misguided leftist loser left off and the other began.)
They were saying on FNC this morning that Nazi Pelosi already has Porkulus Maximus II waiting in the wings. She tried to bring it out and the other ‘RATS told her to put that thing away. “Not yet!” Porkulus I is just the beginning.

I agree with him entirely: Only government can stop stealing so much of our hard earned money that we can’t weather this storm. Oh wait...that’s not what he meant...he wants it to steal more...we’re doomed.
