Medical Examiner: Skeletal Remains Are Missing Child Caylee Anthony's, Death a Homicide

A skull and bones found near the Florida home of missing child Caylee Anthony are those of the little girl and she was the victim of a homicide, the Orange County medical examiner said Friday.

"With regret, I'm here to inform you that the skeletal remains are those of the missing toddler," said Dr. Jan Garavaglia.

The manner of death was ruled a homicide by unknown means, according to Garavaglia.

Garavaglia determined the bones found in a privately-owned wooded lot were 2-year-old Caylee's through nuclear DNA analysis.

"They are not intact. They are all disarticulated. They are completely skeletonized," the medical examiner said. She said some of the bones found were "tiny."

From CNN

The meter reader who found the remains, and called the department four months ago directing them to the site three times, is also expected to hold a separate news conference Friday afternoon.

He's on FNC right now

Hmmn. Perhaps, but first time: “found by side of the road”. Then found further back in the weeds. Then submerged in water, etc. The utility worker didn’t have any problems locating it each time. He knew it was still out there, and had to call four times for somebody to come get it. I’m betting somebody kept moving it around, and he knew it. That’s probably why he’s being questioned now.

Possible. The fact that the bones were dis-articulated would certainly indicate that the bag was moved during/after decomp.

Absolutely no surprise here.

Its not like we have dead babies along the roadside like deer or dogs. The odds of it not being that poor child were almost zero from the moment we heard of the find.

Rest in Peace, Caylee.

Thanks. From what I have seen in the reports is that a bag was reported in August, but they found the skull last week and have found more bones since. This tells me that the bones were no longer in the bag. Result of animal activity? Bag decomposition? Human activity?

This disarticulation of the bones would suggest animal activity or movement of the bag after the body decomposed.

The bag may have been moved by changing water levels in the area. Apparently the area was flooded earlier in the summer and was not readily accessible until recently.

I think it had to be the mom.

I had also mulled that over. I would look at the weather. Maybe they had enough rain to move it away from the road, and it eventually worked its way farther into the "woods."

Dogs could have moved it further in the woods. Might also account for scattered bones.

Ain't no maybe. We had Tropical Storm Fay move through that month and drown Central Florida.

It was Casey
[1] Let her kid be missing a month before mentioning
[2] Party down while her kid is missing
[3] Plethora of lies disruptive to investigation
[4] Computer searches of topics related to the situation
[5] Smell of trunk and id of dogs and test for human decomposition
[6] Links of items with body that tie back to the house

There might be an accomplice but the mom will be convicted.
No penalty is too harsh for what was done to that beautiful little girl!

She did not report her daughter missing for a month. Use your common sense.

However, once again Greta and Fox News proves that some children’s deaths are more important than others.

I swear, Greta and Dr. G are twins separated at birth.

That would explain a lot.

Heartbreaking.

Somehow it was comforting for Dr G to announce it.

Sad to see such a young innocent child pass away...

However....and this is a strong statement....who in the Orange County Sheriffs Dept is helping Casey?

No secret she slept with some of the deputies...even one guy got fired because he lied about his relationship with her

Yes, it rained quite a bit this summer....but it is too odd that a bag full of bones was discovered in August...and law enforcement still had not retrieved them by December.

The biggest fear I have is Casey will walk because of all this mishandling of evidence....or get off with a light punishment....there seems to be no way to prove that Casey killed Caylee
