Just like owning a race horse, the owner gets the trophy.

There must of been over a dozen pitches that Papi whiffed at he would have handled earlier in the season or all of last year.
The off season should restore his wrist to full strength.

Great tagline by the way... would make a good bumper sticker!

Let’s hope. I wonder if he will have surgery this offseason. That could put him out until June of next year.

ya I know..like Nutmeg said the other night it was kinda expected. I agree... I'm actually surprised the Red Sox got this far this year. I really thought they'd be eliminated earlier.
Congrats to the Rays! I'll be on the World Series thread...

Do you think Ortiz will be OK next year? At the beginning of 2008, he wasn't hitting because of his off-season knee surgery, then came the wrist injury...
Oh, I really wanted to see a Red Sox vs Dodgers matchup! Maybe next yeeeeah... ;-)

Awww... have a good night.
My husband told me to wake him up only if the Red Sox win. He gets to sleep...
See you on the World Series thread?

This is the part of the year I really do not look forward to. No baseball. To listen almost every night to a game for most of the year is something I so enjoy. When its over I get bummed out
WEEI should be a lot of fun tomorrow - the phone lines will be filled with people completely, absolutely, totally freaking out.

Oh well, our Red Sox were pretty banged up this year... they actually went further than I expected. I never thought they'd drag it out to Game 7 in the ALCS.

Got home in time to watch the 9th. Definetly didn’t go down without a fight. To have the opportunity to play in a game 7 is always something special. Unfortunately, one team goes home.
That Rays team pitched their arses off tonight led by Matt Garza. This kid is a stud and the sky’s the limit for the MVP.
All I want is a well played, competitive series. And for FOX to tell Barack to take his infomercial and shove it up his arse.
Be proud of your boys. And remember, pitchers and catchers report in about 120 days.

When its over I get bummed outSame here... it's such a long season, it becomes a near-daily habit. Last year we went to Florida for 3 Red Sox spring training games... it was great! I guess that's one way to kind of "elongate" the baseball season.
My in-laws live in FL, so we combined spring training with a family visit. Wonderful break from the cold weather, too... by March, I've just about had it with winter...
