Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Whenever Mel Brooks has a movie in a category it must be mentioned.

IMHO, the “S” list should be a top 20 list.

There's a good debate on IMDB forums if you want to check it out in which is better, Seven Samurai or Rashomon. I'd say Seven Samurai, by a hair. Since this about movies that start with "R", though, I'll say Reven Ramurai, in classic Scooby-Doo dialect. Now, if "Ikiru" started with an "R", I'd stick it in the list, too. Rikiru.

I liked Romper Stomper but I don’t know if I would put it in the top ten R movies.
I’d go with Red River.

2 foreign films I liked were the original Swept Away and Cinema Paradiso.
I actually saw Remains of the Day about 14 years ago. I found it to be an extremely depressing movie due to the emotional limitations of the characters and the wasted opportunity for a man to take the opportunity to love a woman who was every bit what his heart desired. The man lived a pointless existence and while that was the message of the movie I found it far too restraining.
