This is something I don't think I'd noticed before; during my standard archaeology news search, I saw and clicked on the "blogs" button, and that yielded a search of archaeology blogs. That showed me this article.

I think the description of the author that the Phonecians had ‘flimsy wooden boats’ denigrates their boatbuilding and sailing skills.
By the way, someone is building a copy of a Greek boat found in the Danube marshes to recreate the Black sea voyage of Jason and the Argonauts. Maybe we’ve already posted it.
