A meteor awaits pick up from the rubble of Friday's tornado in Greensburg, Kan., Monday, May 7,
2007. Amid the rubble, one of the town's most locally famous features was recovered Monday.
A museum volunteer searching the site of the town's Big Well museum found a missing 1,000-
pound meteorite, one of the largest of its kind. The meteorite, a type called a pallasite, is insured
for $1 million. (AP Photo/Orlin Wagner)

I think the world’s largest hand-dug well is nearby as well, maybe in Pratt.

Yes, I saw in one of the other threads, that it was missing, and thought “well, it couldn’t have gone far”. Looks like I was right.

From the looks of the picture, the rest of the museum was missing too.

Yep, missing. It was in a museum in Greensburg, demolished by the tornado.

What do you call a meteor that hits the ground twice? First time is meteorite, second time is meteordos?

A meteor awaits pick up

Someone would do well to learn the difference between meteor and meteorite.

How dense is the meteorite? It looks very small to weigh 1000 lbs.
