Dig it: The 1970's are calling...pick up the phone and groove on the memories. When was the last time the Democrats ran the House and the Senate? When was the last time the Conservatives wondered what became of the GOP? When was the last time people craved an "energy policy"? When was the last time the word TAXATION was used in the same sentence as inevitable? When was the last time people considered Ford and Carter as Presidents? When was the last time Iran seriously threatened the USA? When was the last time AM radio ruled the airwaves? When was the last time music was as purposely bad as today? Dynamite! You remember the last time was the 1970s.
Trip out and go back in time to AM radio, a pick in your afro, corn rows platform shoes, bell bottoms, silk shirts, short shorts, large neck chains, mood rings, disco music, rollerskating mania, teen idols, Farrah Fawsett, the Brady Bunch, the misery index, high inflation, price controls, SALT, Annie Hall, and invention of the personal computer. Come join the fun--
All Skate.

I know it's not of the 70's, but it's still the silly thread. And what would the Friday Silly Thread be without this guy?

I always wonder who makes up those lists. Most of the lists I see assume the kids of the (fill in the blank)decade are little kids. I think to be a 'child' of the (fill in the blank) decade one needs to be a teen or older so one can understand what is actually going on. I was born in the late 50's, I don't consider myself a 'child of the 60's' as I was oblivious to most of what went on then. Except for Kennedy's assasination; that I remember because it impacted my cartoon watching.

I wish I'd had one of THOSE! We didn't get wise until the 1976 Honda. That little thing took us all over Europe and part of the USA. It worked for us for 10 years.
I've had three Hondas...kept each for 10 years.
Now, I'm too poor for a Honda.

I graduated in '70. The 70's aren't my growin' years. They're my Wife/Army/Mama years.
The 60's are MINE!

You're dark and thick and hard to see thru. (Insert your own mildly suggestive comment about foam... or getting foam... that the Mods would not like). You're really good with a scoop of Bluebell Vanilla ice cream in you |

'70s?...I forgot the '70s, except for those insipid "Bicentennial Minute" commercials....
I remember those! I watched them when I was a kid, I always enjoyed them. Wish I could find them on VHS/DVD, on a website, or even 8-Track. I was 10 in 1976, I turned 40 this year. I'll have to say that the '70's were a great decade to be a kid in compared to now, although if you had a family to provide for, it could have been a rough ride. One site I love is:
Dee T's 70's Page
Enjoy

Your post at #51, 101, 151, etc. dictates how everyone will begin viewing the thread until the next page--or so goes the theory.
