I was under the impression that the Antonine Wall was constructed of wood [unlike Hadrian's Wall]. What are they digging up?
Of more intereest to me: Is there any clue where the IXth Legion "Hispania" disappeared?
I thought that the disappearance of IX Hispana has been debunked, or was based on faulty evidence. That some of the confusion was related to their quick deployment to the Lower Rhine or Nijemegen region in 122, and that this was the time of their supposed disappearance.
The Ninth LegionBy 180AD all trace of the lecion had disappeared and it is thought to have been lost in action whilst dealing with the Judean Revolt (DIO LXIX, 13) in 132AD. A list of all the legions found in Rome dating to around 161-180AD (ILS 2288), makes no mention of the Ninth Legion.

They took a wrong turn and ended up in the East End of Glasgow. Unable to speak the local dialect they did not understand the challenge "What the &%£ are you looking at?" issued by 4 members of a teenage streetgang.
They were then dragged up a back alley and kicked to death.
