How did you get a Golden?

I kept changing my answers to try to get it.

My first one was German Pincher.

Then I got Doxie, Lapland, and the worst was the poodle ***shudder***.

I gave up after that!

My 14 year old nephew is a Saint Bernard.

hmmmmmmm....hadn't thought about it until just now but, since it didn't state that the breed was a Giant Schnauzer, I am guessing it actually meant the Standard Schnauzer.

I had a friend years ago who own two (yes 2) Giant Schnauzers!! They were really giants, too! Big, gentle and incredibly funny giants! When they would stand around in the kitchen they could actually rest their chins on the counter tops without stretching a bit! I love that breed but could never handle having that large a dog as a indoor pet. (btw ~ picking up their 'droppings' was like cleaning up behind two elephants!)

LOL.

Sounds like me and Maggie the Golden. I can easily move the Bear the Chi-rat-xer, but Maggie is a big Golden (she'll be 1 in about 2 weeks).

I sometimes just shove her over but mostly I bribe her with dog biscuits.

Now she ALWAYS gets in my spot and expects a treat.

The other morning we were going back to bed after she woke me up to take her out, I bribed her, she got off the bed, grabbed the treat and then ran back to the bed. I dove in and got my spot, but also got a 60# m/l dog on my back.

Maggie likes to lay right on top of me for a while, then she will slide off and lay next to me, or sometimes she lays by my head, but mostly at my feet/legs, using them as a pillow of course.

Very interesting.

I ended up as a German Short Haired Pointer.

My dad raised them. I had two in my lifetime.

I like the breed, and two I owned fit my lifestyle.

The last one was not that great of a hunter, but she was a fearless home protector and watch dog. She was great with our sons from babies to teenagers. She broke up a couple of robberies in one neighborhood and kept our house from being bothered for close to two decades.

Italian Seggugio? Who knew? Sounds like a shady character of some sort who preys on women.

I don't like Irish Setters. I have a bad association with them from when I was little kid. My best friend had one and it would always jump on me. Freaked me out.
