I just got an update from my daughter in law about Allie. Here is what I heard.
Allie is 4 years old and still in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
In January Allie became very sick and her illness was a puzzle to medical people.
She slipped into a coma and was in that state for about 6 weeks.
In a stunning example of the power of prayers, Allie woke and was able to appropriately smile.
She is expected to be in CHOP for at least another several months.
Allie is now out of ICU breathing on her own but still having important difficulties. During her intubation she bit her tongue off and it had to be surgically reattached.
During her long coma her limbs became stiff and to start fixing them doctors have set them – first her right leg and left arm and next her left leg and right arm.
She has to re-learn how to swallow before relearning toileting and serviceable speech.
The team that is helping Allie is optimistic that she might be able to merely be “slow” but able to be placed in a mainstream class once she is able to go to school.
Allie has shown us that the power of prayer can do amazing things.

Please keep praying for her and her family.

Good news! Do they know what the issue was/is yet? I’ll pray for little Allie in the meantime.
