DeSantis In Fight with New Hampshire Republican Women
The National Pulse ^ | JACK MONTGOMERY

Posted on 06/27/2023 6:56:53 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Ron DeSantis has been accused of making his “worst strategic move” of the race for the Republican nomination so far, getting into a scrap with a conservative women’s group by scheduling an event in New Hampshire on the same day as their annual fundraiser.

“It’s just stupid, actually. You don’t take on the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women,” said GOP strategist Mike Dennehy of the Florida Governor’s move to counter-programme the “Lilac Luncheon,” which is being headlined by his opponent former president Donald J. Trump.

The GOP women’s group put out a statement chastising DeSantis: “[I]t has always been a New Hampshire hallmark to be considerate when scheduling events,” they complained. “To have a candidate come in and distract from the most special event [the women’s group] holds in the year is unprecedented.”

“If there’s one thing you don’t do in New Hampshire, it’s piss off the grassroots women,” commented a source described as an adviser to one of DeSantis’s rivals. “Don’t mess with them, they remember everything. Rookie move.”

Dennehy, a former staffer on the Rick Perry presidential campaign in 2016, also warned “it could be death by a thousand cuts” for DeSantis if he continues making unforced errors.

“Then why are you attacking Trump, who is attacked by the left a thousand times more than they attack DeSantis?”

Somebody has to point out the idiocy of his, and that of the Trump Onlys, campaign of personal and political destruction against one of our own (no, not “MAGA”, but patriotic, anti-Marxist Americans).

I’m merely illustrating how many here are falling for (and indulging in) the divide and conquer leftist tactic. Whatever happened to that olde “let the best man win” mantra? Gone with the wind and with the concept of a future ‘free America’, apparently.

The FACT that Trump supported and donated to MANY heinous Democrats in the past should give you guys a hint not to do what you are doing against DeSantis. But noooo....

“It took Biden three tries to get to the White House, the first two—1988 and 2008—flaming out early and embarrassingly, and even his final winning campaign in 2020 struggled to gain traction and seemed headed for defeat until it got a last-minute rescue from a powerful South Carolina congressman.”

Quotes:

[Pat] Buchanan wrote in 1992: “Our resolve is to put America First again, and to keep America First. For 50 years we have liberated, defended, and aided nations all over the world. It was the right and just thing to do. But, now, we must begin to look out for the forgotten Americans right here in the United States. Our great manufacturing base needs to be re-tooled and restored; our economy needs to be revived; our society needs to be healed; and our people need to become one again.”

He [Pat Buchanan] wrote in 2002: “In half a lifetime, many Americans have seen their God destroyed, their heroes defiled, their culture polluted, their values assaulted, their country invaded, and themselves demonized as extremists and bigots for holding on to the belief Americans have held for generations.”

“ “DeSantis should have stayed in Florida...”

Every four years is going to get tougher for Republicans because some Democrats are illegally changing the demographics of the country.

Florida is booming right now and DeSantis wants to run on that.”

So Governor DeSantis is an opportunist?

Your Deep State and Swamp stealing elections have consequences.

Trump would be almost done with his 2nd term, and DeSantis running wouldn’t look like a swampy move then..

It does look like a swampy move now. A Florida swampy move , but still swampy..

“Jumping into the pool with Trump while MAGA voters are watching, is one way to sink your future..”

I disagree. And if “jumping into the pool with Trump” is such a heinous act, then why has Trump warmly welcomed others that jumped into that same pool??? Does that mean that all the other GOPers that are in the GOP primary race have also ‘sunk their future’? Or....just DeSantis. I smell blatant BS and hypocrisy here. It reeks.

Honestly, I can support Trump against the radical left because I am 100% always and forever against the radical left. But you DDS guys here make it really difficult. Seriously.

DeSantis is number #2 on the polls before anybody but Trump announced.

Whoever was number 2, was going to get the heat from Trump...

Your Jeb got it.

DeSantis is Jeb 2024..

If Christie was number 2 before he belly flopped in, he would have gotten it..

That’s the role #2 plays to Front running Trump..

Turd in the pool

“Calling us cultists is supposed to make us shut up and let the Ron followers own the bored. Right out of the DNC playbook.”

Well...with all due respect.... if or when you are incapable of admitting...or even discussing...any faults, flaws or mistakes that Trump might have or might have made....

if the shoe fits?

A Cult follower follows without questioning. Without using discernment and analysis or common sense....rather, using pure emotion. Some here fit that description to a perfect “T”. Just sayin...

I support and vote for the GOP...not because I think they’re incapable of stupidity (far from it)... or because I believe they’re incapable of betraying their constituents (way far from it, since I’ve lost count how many times that has happened)...

but because I know they are the ONLY alternative to the Marxist left control of America. And last I checked...Trump is part of that GOP. Therefore, he is open to any and all criticism that might be warranted. But some here would have NO criticism of Trump at all....ever... if they could manage it. Hence, the cultist label.

Dan,
Your FBI committed bigger mistakes than Trump..

Trump’s biggest mistake was two words: America First.

For those two words, and daring to infiltrate the Swamp through the R Swamp team, Trump became a clear and present danger, not to Americans, but to your government..

And proved that America First is exactly what your GOP isn’t about..

“So Governor DeSantis is an opportunist?”

DeSantis believes in doing the right things.

This creates opportunities politically.

Reagan went from Governor of a fast-growing state to President. DeSantis will happily walk the same trail as Reagan.

Very few politicians in American history so quickly scuttled a promising political career as quickly as DeSantis has done. This man was a sterling governor in a state that was prospering under his leadership. If he had the wisdom to simply obey Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment ( Never speak ill of a fellow Republican), and tolerated Trump’s eccentrics, he would have been the VP candidate in 2024 and likely President in 2028. Instead he took the bad advice of Karl Rove, the Bushes and some clown donors. Now he will never go beyond Florida.

“That’s the role #2 plays to Front running Trump..

Turd in the pool”

Yes, of course. But....there’s a huge difference between what you’re describing “business as usual” re: how the primaries go...and what is going on currently. We are in a completely new and different reality now with the rabid left’s 24/7 campaign to disqualify and eliminate Trump from even running. And gee....the way ‘other things’ (stolen elections) have been going...things that I never believed they would or could possibly get away with...

they just might succeed with this, too.

DeSantis is a backup plan, IMO. Destroy the backup plan and you unceremoniously hand the next election to the Marxists. I would hope that we on the right would be smarter than that (guess not).

That’s where the Swamp has taken the country..

Your mileage obviously varies..

First of all, the name is not Dan. Secondly, it’s your FBI and your GOP too. Unless...you’re really a foreign, anti-American entity posting here with an agenda.

But even if you’re a foreign entity, you should have been paying attention enough to know that the GOP RINOs have not been “America first” for decades. They’ve gotten too fond of those ill-gotten gains from selling out America.

But hey, thanks for re-stating the effing obvious for any here that have NOT been paying attention.

Not my FBI or GOP.

I’m not on Team GOP.
I’m an independent...

I see the FBI as a Swamp enforcing agency..

I want it obliterated..

And the GOP can die a Swamp death too..

I am a Deplorable though.
And an American citizen.

And a voter who will happily write Trump in if your R Swamp stupid party plays the stupid game

Your FBI has consequences..

All politics is local.

Most often said by Democrats.

Although like most things they probably stole it from whoever originated it.

I do think there is lot of TRUTH in in the pronouncement.

I have always felt that Trump’s popularity is based on his local campaign rallies.

Not just the people who attend but the local coverage he gets, but most importantly the word of mouth that is passed to friends and families from those who do attend.

Trump creates a “local buzz” wherever he goes and the “buzz” is undeniably positive no matter how hard Elite Stream media would have you believe otherwise.

The Selling of the President 1968 created a mythology that candidates can be marketed like soap and beer by spending huge amount of national and regional media.

Madison Avenue ad men can win or lose a campaign.

Whether it was the Willie Horton ad for Daddy Bush or the Michael Dukakis photo op in a tank which determined the outcome is dubious.

It was probably Daddy Bush lying through his teeth when he said “Read my lips, no new taxes,” that won it for him not Lee Atwater’s Willie Horton “racist” ad that the Democrats claim won it for Daddy Bush.

If Ron has any intuitive political skills they have not yet surfaced which makes him dependent on his handlers.

This story does not amount to much.

But it does help to build the narrative that a national campaign is out of Ron’s depth just like it was for Jeb.
