At Breitbart, David Ng notes that the Walt Disney Company has “lost a stunning $890 million on its last eight studio releases, including The Little Mermaid and Elemental, according to a box office analyst.” No doubt that is why Disney’s stock has lost over half of its value since its March 2021 peak.
Wokeness has not been working well for Disney. Has the company learned its lesson? Of course not:
Disney’s Star Wars has cast its first transgender actor in a major role, hiring British male-to-female YouTube personality Abigail Thorn for the role in the upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte, according to multiple reports.
Abigail Thorn is reportedly set to play a character named Ensign Eurus in the series, which is expected to begin streaming sometime next year. The Acolyte reportedly takes place during the High Republic period, which is set before the events of the Star Wars movies.
The series has already cast “non-binary” actress Amanda Steinberg in its lead role.

I got off the Disney down bound train a long time ago. The fact that they are plumbing new depths now is interesting but not that relevant to me personally since I avoid it all nowadays.
all they have to do is stop trying to insert adult things into their kids movies and they could turn things around.

Sounds like Disney is spending megamillions to go after .007 of the entertainment market, i.e, folks that do not have a gender or did the switcheroo. Who, other than them, would identify with this subject matter? People watch stuff they potentially can identify with. This leaves out 99.3% of the market. Is the Bud Light marketing gal that blew up the company and was recently fired now running the Disney marketing operation?

The article got it wrong. She’s not “Amanda Steinberg.” She’s “Amandla Stenberg.” No word on whether she’s non-binary, but she’s half-Danish and half-Black, not German or Jewish.
Disney is facing a huge cash-draw with Hulu next year. They will likely be required to buy Comcast’s 33% stake, for a minimum of $9.1 billion, probably more if Comcast can demonstrate a higher valuation.
Disney’s crappy woke movies are losing money, and while its parks are a cash-cow, they can’t expand further due to space and labor constraints - so they will just raise prices.
Disney will likely have to add a lot of debt to buy out Hulu. If growth in Hulu stalls, or it doesn’t generate decent cash-flow, Disney could be in serious trouble
