I've had a clean driving record for close to 30 years. Every few years a cop will latch on and give me a driving test which I have passed. I thought I would report on today's test. It is clear in my mind I was clearly getting stalked. After the traffic light changed to green, the police car was slow to respond to the traffic light and didn't keep up with traffic flows. The question I have are police officers immune from distracted driving laws?
Wise words. Took me 5 yeas to figure it out.
You only get Constitutional protection as a citizen of this fine country, which is negated by your claim of sovereignty.
You in a whole lotta trouble, son.
I get around to everyone eventually. ;-)
How did they catch him????????.....................
Just like the dare stickers, they see those and expect its people trying to have cops ignore them. They’ll clamp down harder on you.
And speed around at speeds they’ll ticket you for, with no lights on
Maybe you should explain what you mean by a ‘driving test’. Nobody seems to understand, and you just keep dancing around it.
I’m on the road to work at 5am every morning.
One morning I had a cop get so close to my bumper that I couldn’t see his headlights.
They do that to bait people into speeding.
I called out the sheriff’s department on their FB, and what do you know?
Post was immediately deleted.
For the most part I do back the blue. But if they break the law or abuse their power I believe they should be held accountable. And if something happens involving the police I will not accept the medias account of the event until the investigation plays out, the media is almost always wrong and they stir up hate and hysteria and then maybe days later admit we were inaccurate with our first reports, too late the damage is done. There are just too many liberal and some conservatives who just hate cops period, it’s almost like a racial thing, they put on the uniform and badge and instant hate.
I haven’t been followed by police but have been pulled over for speeding. The first time I was 75 in a 55 and deserved the ticket. The second time I was 60 in a 55 and a state trooper wrote me a ticket which I thought was a quota ticket. I got pulled over once because the officer couldn’t see my temp tag on the back window on a rainy dark night and he saw it as he walked up to the truck and I heard him say aloud, oh, I see it now. He told me why he pulled me over and suggested putting it in plastic in the plate area to prevent further issues until I got my plates and bid me good evening.
I did get pulled over taking my 7 year old daughter to the hospital. She fell at school and broke her wrist and I was close and picked her up and started towards the hospital and got lit up. The officer knew me and said why are you driving so fast and I pointed to her in the back with her bone under the skin laying on top of her hand and he said go brother! On same run a sheriff’s deputy pulled me over, saw the wrist and started a lecture to slow down and I’ll admit I was about to say either let me go or write the damn ticket she’s in pain! But I didn’t and he suddenly shut up and said go on.
when cops pull up next to me at traffic lights i test my drag racing reaction times on launches and leave them sitting at the light, then let off the go fast pedal when i reach the speed limit... 😁
I explained that I was going the same speed as he was. "And that was 10mph over the limit. And you kept right up with me for 2 miles. License and registration please."
They radioed ahead. He got caught in a traffic jam/backup.
Not too many Bright Orange Corvettes on the road

Police in New Hampshire say they clocked this 2021 Chevy Corvette traveling faster than 160 mph and arrested the driver.
ASHLAND, N.H. — A Connecticut man was charged with reckless driving after a New Hampshire state trooper clocked him driving a Corvette faster than 160 mph, police say.
The trooper spotted an orange sports car speeding north on Interstate 93 about 11:15 a.m. Sunday, New Hampshire State Police said. Using radar, he clocked him at 161 mph — more than 90 mph over the speed limit of 70 mph, according to state police.
The car was traveling so fast, the trooper was not able to attempt to catch up with it, state police said. Instead, he alerted area police departments, and within minutes, reports came in of “multiple sports cars, including the orange car, driving erratically at high rates of speed, nearly causing crashes,” state police said.
A Woodstock Police Department officer heard the broadcast, positioned a patrol car on the highway and saw the speeding orange sports car pass. This time, the car was clocked at 130 mph, state police said. The officer then was able to find the car, a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette, and stop it at Exit 32, where it had become stuck in traffic, state police said.
When the state trooper arrived, he gave the driver a summons for two counts of reckless driving and one count of disobeying an officer, state police said.
The driver, Alejandro Zapata-Rebello, 30, of Danbury, is due in Plymouth court on Sept. 22, state police said.
Me too. That was a long time ago. Must have been the late ‘60’s? Nope, just checked, 1971.
My style of driving is intended not to attract the attention of law enforcement. I brake at yellow lights in anticipation of them turning red. There is nothing to be gained from rushing through a changing traffic signal. I stop fully at every stop sign. I drive in the rightmost lane possible and avoid sudden lane changes. I don’t accelerate wildly from a stop and I yield in traffic when someone wants to get in front of me. I allow and maintain a safe following distance from the ar in front of me.
Situational awareness is of utmost importance. You have be looking around all the time. Fortunately all of my accidents have been rear enders. I have had a few close calls but being alert has helped especially when augmented by good luck. The last 4 accidents I have been in over about 40 years were someone crashing into the back of my car. I have been pulled over 3 times since 1995 and have gotten 2 tickets. Every time I am pleasant and polite. You can’t win an argument with a cop and you can always hope they don’t show up for court.
Alejandro Zapata-Rebello, 30, of Danbury, ....................sounds like a good Old Family Connecticut Yankee name.......................
Do you live in a jurisdiction where the CLEO is a politically-appointed police chief, or an elected sheriff?
Driving test is usually appearing to be committing a DWO (Driving While Old). That can include driving under the speed limit, pacing 18 wheelers while in the left lane and slowing down if they think someone is too close. An older couple in my neighborhood had to do several for these very reasons.
Both. It was city versus county sheriff...
“Every few years a cop will latch on and give me a driving test which I have passed.”
Driving test? So you let the policeman sit in your car and he directs you to start driving and then grades how you do? LOL
