Now, Cornel, I have often heard blacks demanding reparations for slavery. All right. I agree. It is only fair. I will pay a half-million dollars to each of my slaves, and free them immediately. I am not sure how many I have, but will try to give you an estimate in even dozens. Further, I believe that all blacks are entitled to a similar amount for every year in which they were slaves.

LOL. I rarely see my own position posited in a similar manner. The 'descendants' argument is fodder for small minds which, ironically, happen to be those on the left and - go figure - most uneducated blacks.

"Jared Diamond makes pretty much the same argument in his book “Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies” except he also include disease."

I threw that book against the wall.

He blamed me for every problem ever in the world.

I’ve been dating a Brazilian lately. I received a not very gentle education about the size of Brazil.(3.3 million sq. miles) to the contiguous US’(3.12 million sq. miles). She also considers herself black but looks hispanic to me. (Morena)

But she is conservative mindset and the last few months have been very fun.

Got in an online discussion with some dolt that the Mercator project was "racist" because Africa was small, while Europe appeared larger.

I then directed this person to a link that describes the Mercator projection, with all the intricate mathematics behind projecting a sphere onto a flat surface.

Got no response, which was not surprising.

It is people like that who are the ones protesting that math and science schools lower their standards to let minorities in. Not a lick of any mathematical knowledge, just blather.

The Mercator projection makes Greenland look much larger than Australia. In fact Greenland is 836,330 square miles whereas Australia’s land mass is 2,966,153 square miles, more than three times the size of Greenland.

Srednik recommends the Lambert Conformal Projection for landlubbers.

Flat maps do not work well for this sort of thing.

You should visit China. They have a lot more people per square mile than you have in your worst nightmare. It was difficult to walk down a sidewalk without running into to someone with each step. They could do that, I couldn’t.

The difference between flat maps and globes WAS the subject of discussion in the fourth grade. Students generally forget everything they had learned just the year before.

I was surprised to see just how far north the African continent actually is: Capetown is as close to the equator as Atlanta.

Good idea. Besides everyone should know by now that biology, (trans-ideology) and also geography and cartography by extension are simply a matter of a person’s inner feelings about how they see the earth. These feelings should not be bound by some scientist or cartographer’s predjudiced and hurtful opinions.

I think in this case the focus was on Russia and that it isn’t nearly as large as “some” think

That’s were I was as well. I was there in 1991 when it was being demolished in sections so that it could be rebuilt. Now it is a really beautiful city.

Yeah, I was taught geography back when classrooms had “globes”.... I think I first heard about how flat maps distort things in the 3rd or 4th grade. It is now probably a Grad School subject.

Yes, but don’t be surprised if somehow they turn it into a racial thing. That’s what they do with everything else.

It’s not that Africa is shown as being too small on the majority of world maps, as Statista’s Martin Armstrong explains below, it’s how almost every other part of the world has been artificially inflated.

LOL! What a stupid statement. If other countries are shown inaccurately disproportionately larger than Africa, Africa is shown too small relatively.

Every country on a map is "artificially deflated" unless your map is the size of the earth.

If they “wuz Kangs”, and built all and taught all they said they did, what caused Africa to degenerate so bad they were living in mud huts and eating each other when found? Did they forget how to write and do math?
And where is the evidence of this ancient “Civilization?”
