Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have accused the Cuomo administration of engaging in a ‘criminal conspiracy’ following a bombshell report alleging they stripped data on nursing home deaths from a public report.

Republican state Assemblyman Mike Lawler has called on Andrew Cuomo to resign.
“It’s very clear the Cuomo admin understood their March 25th order had contributed to the death toll [and] they wanted to cover it up to avoid political fallout, plain and simple,” he tweeted.
“They had the data [and] they hid it,” Lawler added. “This was a coordinated criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice.”

But it wasn’t just Republicans who were labeling the Cuomo administration’s actions as criminal.
Democratic State Assemblyman Ron Kim, who has accused the governor of threatening to ruin his career if he didn’t issue a statement covering for DeRosa’s cover-up admission, came to the same conclusion.
“This is criminal,” he tweeted. “The Gov’s top advisors pushed state health officials to strip a public report of the data showing more nursing home deaths.”

He does belong in prison...but he will be protected. As will Whitmer, Murphy, Wolf and a couple other who made the same pronouncment.
Cuomo didn’t just send patients back.
He allowed positive staffers to continue working until he rescinded the policy in mid-May.
Why did homes that could have refused knuckle under to the gov...?

There are no NY Demwit politicians who wouldn't make the world a better place if they were dead.
Good guess - they were not given a choice. If they refused he would shut the facility down.
The problem with that is that Fedzilla relaxed their regs two weeks before Cuomo’s diktat.
Fedzilla had the facilities’ backs.
My bet is that Cuomo threatened and/or bribed the facilities.
I do know there highly questionable communications between Albany and some Upstate facilities that need an explanation.
And nobody’s interested.
Here in Pennsylvania we play a slightly different game: we don’t appear to require nursing facilities to report their COVID infections or deaths in anything like a standardized or timely fashion.
The game at my mother’s facility was to shove any resident suspected of having COVID out to a hospital where they would likely die so they wouldn’t have to claim the stat. And if the hospital attempted to send them back they would insist that the resident go instead to a rehab facility for an in determinant period for the same reasons. The Wolf Administration didn’t appear to be interested in accurate accounting and so the facilities continue to get away with it.

The Cuomo crisis management playbook now unfolding is essentially a repeat of the lewinskied Clinton’s:

Cuomo wasn’t the only democrat governor who killed off a bunch of old people with his heavy handed stupidity...
I wonder why the corrupt press isn’t going after them... I’m sure we can dig up some babes who were ‘offended’ by some comment or other...
There are other reasons to want to get rid of Cuomo, and having him take the fall for allegations (and pretty old ones, why do it now?) of pinching some ass means the Media Wing of the DNC and the Demagogic Party itself never faces reckoning for their destruction of civil liberties, nor will it have trouble getting away with pretending the rest of the partisan genocides (and those dead old people no doubt still "cast votes" for Biden) just never took place. Ultimately, the Demwits are just a loosely affiliated collection of violent criminal street gangs, and they're at war.
