Biden’s Response to the Los Angeles Shooting Is Cynical Scaremongering
National Review ^ | September 14, 2020 | David Harsanyi

Posted on 09/14/2020 11:56:34 AM PDT by karpov

Despite his promise to name Beto “Hell Yes, We’re Going to Take Your AR-15” O’Rourke as gun czar, Joe Biden claims he doesn’t support confiscation of firearms, merely a friendly “voluntary buyback program” and a national registry for law-abiding owners of so-called “assault weapons.”

After two cops were ambushed in Los Angeles by gunmen this weekend, Biden promised that he’ll take “assault weapons and high-capacity magazines” and “weapons of war” off the streets. Setting aside the fact that the AR-15 isn’t a “weapon of war” and it is seldom used in criminality, why is Biden even talking about them now? The person who shot the deputies — at least, according to the video and reporting we have — used pistols.

Like most of the gun-control efforts on the left, Biden’s proposal would do little to nothing to mitigate firearm crimes (is he really contending people who attempt to murder law-enforcement officers are going to sell back their weapons?). This kind of cynical scaremongering is only meant to mislead voters who wince at the very notion of a gun, and to take focus away from a movement that’s been dehumanizing cops and degenerating into violence. And while it’s important to note that we don’t know the shooter’s motivations for sure, as far as we know, AR-15s had absolutely zero to do with the crime in question.

A pistol is now an assault weapon? Did a reporter ask Biden if the perp passed a background check and owned the gun legally? What legal loophole was used for this Biden supporter to get his handgun?

He’s a democrat. democrats have adopted blm and antifa as their own, and refuse to condemn anything the do, making the democrat party a partner in criminality.

Biden doesn’t have any proposal, for gun control or any other topic. He barely knows when his mush is served for lunch, much less be enough of a deep thinker so he can create a policy on anything other than he ain’t talking unless its from a teleprompter with questions provided by the “press” in advance. The “proposals” are coming out of his staff, working with the tech billionaire Politburo (communism for thee but not for me) like Bloomberg, Mrs. Jobs, Mr. Twitter, Zuckerberg and the other top ten wealthy people who are bankrolling this idiot’s presidential run.

Biden’s whole life is like some sort of Forest Gump story.

Hanging around the Senate for 45 years doing mostly nothing except profiting from political connections and getting caught plagiarizing speeches. No problem say the voters of Delaware, we still love you, back to the Senate you go, term after term.

If the Framers had remembered term limits he would be a Wilmington city councilman. No one would have ever heard of him.

Dogma based on the axiom “Orange Man Bad”. Everything is viewed from that perspective.

Even when the Orange Man does something that is of an unalloyed benefit, the fact that it came from him at all makes the whole program flawed, but if ANYBODY else adopts virtually the same program, that removes the flaws, and therefore worthy of highest of praise.

I think of the movie “Being There”...

“It’s for sure a white man’s world in America. Look here: I raised that boy since he was the size of a piss-ant. And I’ll say right now, he never learned to read and write. No, sir. Had no brains at all. Was stuffed with rice pudding between th’ ears. Shortchanged by the Lord, and dumb as a jackass. Look at him now! Yes, sir, all you’ve gotta be is white in America, to get whatever you want. Gobbledy-gook!”

“If the Framers had remembered term limits...”

That would have been repealed decades ago.

Becasue Biden doesn't know anything about guns. Over the years, the democRATS have demonized the lowly AR-15 as an assault weapon of war.

The AR-15 is basically a .22 rifle with some plastic and metal parts added to make it look cool. It is not a military weapon. It is not a weapon of war. It is basically, what we call here in the South, a "critter gun, to shoot pesky rodents and destructive varmints that destroy our gardens and eat through the feed sacks for the livestock in the barn.

The AR-15 is not the weapon of choice for criminals. It is a self-defense weapon. We use them for target practice too because there is not violent recoil or kickback to it when fired. It is the most popular and frequently purchase firearm in the US.

But it is also the most denigrated and misaligned weapon by the Left that they want to "buy back" (their euphemism for confiscate) to make America safer. America would be safer without criminals having illegal handguns in their possession.

Joe Biden thinks guns are for sticking out the back door and firing to scare off any threats, like robbers, burglars and home invaders. Remember his shotgun example from years ago? Just stick it out the door and fire it. Law enforcement quickly reminded Joe that that kind of activity was illegal.

The Left knows nothing about guns but they purport to know how to solve gun crime by taking them away from law-abiding citizens who have a constitutional right to own them.

a national registry for law-abiding owners of so-called “assault weapons.”

We all know where that leads.

Loathsome Lyndon Johnson wanted national registration of all guns and Federal licensing of gun owners.

Neither of these were in the final Gun Control Act he signed in 1968, and he was spitting mad when he signed it.

Five months later he was out of office. Less than five years later he was dead. But the burdens of GCA-68 live on.

Almost ALL Democrats are pathologically GUN CONTROL above all else, except possibly Pro-Abortion/Murder and Pro-LGBT.

Never trust a Democrat with your guns.
