This week Bob Woodward released excerpts from a forthcoming book on the the Trump Administration’s handling of Coronavirus. The angle grabbing the most media attention is President Trump telling the author that his public comments were less dire than the intelligence he was being provided from the federal government. Many are now claiming this amounts to a “cover up” that needlessly endangered the lives of Americans.

However, as the timeline below demonstrates, Woodward’s report does not accurately capture the Trump Administration’s public handling of the virus. In fact, the administration was initially attacked for being too aggressive.

With assistance from the White House, below is a timeline of Trump’s handling of Covid from early January through March.

As far as I know, the President was way ahead of Fauci on this. As late as Feb 29th, Fauci was preaching to just go about your business...we're watching it...

And Nancy was promoting party time in China Town.

The President gets the same intelligence as do the Congessional intelligence committees.

What did Adam Schiff do about the pandemic when he got intelligence about it?

Did the CIA drop the ball and not report on a pandemic that was already known to millions of Chinese?

My understanding - and this is early on that I had read this - the CDC essentially begins taking action without the President’s go ahead anyway. The way it is designed to work.
