A day after armed protesters against Michigan’s stay-at-home order entered the statehouse in Lansing, Donald Trump once again expressed support for the rightwing movement.
Michigan’s Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer, should he said: “make a deal” with the demonstrators.
“The governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire,” the president wrote in a tweet on Friday morning. “These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.”
She didn’t listen to the President’s advice. Protestors in Michigan planning to rally at the state Capitol on Thursday are being warned that if they bring firearms to the event they will be arrested.
On Monday, Whitmer said she respected people’s rights to protest but was becoming ‘increasingly concerned about the violent nature of the comments being made’ and the ‘extreme rhetoric already connected to Thursday’s rally.’
She has requested that if people decide to protest that they wear masks and practice social distancing.
Whitmer’s comments came after gun-toting militia protesters joined a larger group demanding that she reopen parts of the state’s economy in a demonstration last week. The protesters spilled inside the Capitol, where armed demonstrators confronted police officers and insisted on being allowed onto the House floor as lawmakers debated an extension of her emergency powers.
Allegedly several members of the groups planning on attending the rally called for the assassination of Governor Gretchen Whitmer which saw one man writing: ‘Can we please just take up a collection for an assassin to put that woman from Michigan down.’
Under current state law, it is legal to take firearms inside the Capitol, because Michigan is an open-carry state.
Please share this article wherever you can. It is the only way we can work around their censorship and ensure people receive news about issues that the mainstream media suppress.
It’s time to tar and feather these people. Of course we can vote them out, but it’s such a laborious process that they are guaranteed employment. Get in there and take them out.
Fair enough.... but carrying a weapon at a ‘lockdown’ protest is also not productive. The news story becomes the weapons rather than the protest. We have to be smarter. That’s my point.

They’ve got masks on, what’s the problem? Looks like open carry to me. What do you think they should do, stick em down their pants? That’d be “concealed,” which would come under a different set of laws. But I get it though, freedom makes you nervous. Take it up with your state legislature.
And for God’s sake, don’t move down to Georgia.
