LOL The people doing this have probably never seen one, let alone used one.
When I worked at the shipyard in the 60s we worked on a Greek ship that had what looked like a 2x12 about 20 feet long with holes cut in it on each side of the ship. They said that when at sea, when one of the crew had to take a crap that is where the did it.
Nobody should have more than 20 rolls per household member at any given time. People are bragging about having hundreds of rolls in their houses. This is what is causing the problem. Toilet paper is still being manufactured at the same rate and people are using it at the same rate. But the supply cannot keep up if people keep clearing the shelves when they already have enough rolls at home that they won't even get to using until well into Trump's second term.
I had a summer job right after college with the sanitation dept. and most of the calls was to ream out clogged sewer lines from disposed pampers.
I know someone using small pieces of old underwear, but she is bleaching them in the laundry to reuse. Like cloth diapers.

Why not? I am out. Well-stocked on most other things.
We have options, but nothing silly is getting flushed.
In fact, I sewed up some cloth napkins yesterday out of old material to conserve the stock of paper products we do have.
I don’t expect to see another roll of Scott Tissue for at least a month, and I’ll be damned if I’m paying jacked-up prices from gougers.
They can choke on their hoard before I deign to take any off their hands.
How in the world did Humanity survive when mothers had to use cloth diapers...?

When we visited Mexico in 2000, we were told we HAD to buy toilet paper from a vendor at the public restroom, and we BETTER BUY, even if we had our own.
Yep. There he was, at a table selling two or three sheets, with an armed burly policeman backing him up.
Dollar Tree baby wipes 40 for 1$, no tp here either. We got 4 packs- Dollar Tree had boxes and boxes of them, and no crazy people trying to stab you over them.
We used real cloth diapers on our kids between 1975 and 1981.
Still have no problem using old clean rags if I need to.
We refer to that apocalypse as ‘rag on a stick’.
We’ve never experienced it but we have a plan, just in case.
Also rags, sticks and a bucket each for everyone.
Please tell us more. Are they adequate substitute for TP rolls?
Rag, soap, water. Wash, rinse, reuse.
