Hillary Clinton on Wednesday night suggested that if the Justice Department was going to let Russia get away with interfering in the 2016 presidential election, it might be OK if one of the 2020 Democratic candidates enlisted China for help.
The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate offered a seemingly tongue-in-cheek hypothetical to Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC show.
“Imagine, Rachel, that you had one of the Democratic nominees for 2020 on your show, and that person said, you know, the only other adversary of ours who is anywhere near as good as the Russians is China,” Clinton told Maddow. “So why should Russia have all the fun? And since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don't we ask China to back us?”
“And not only that, China, if you're listening, why don't you get Trump's tax returns?” Clinton continued. “I'm sure our media would richly reward you."
Her phrasing echoed a statement by Donald Trump about Hillary Clinton’s emails during the 2016 campaign. “Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” he said at a July news conference in Florida. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
Blasted for inviting a foreign power to interfere in an American election, Trump subsequently claimed he was not serious. However, the Mueller report indicated Russian hackers — clearly paying close attention to the U.S. campaign — did go after Clinton’s emails within hours of Trump’s remarks.

Yes, and if a Dem candidate ever said such a thing, the media would cover for them and say “It was clearly a joke.” They’d even laugh along with it.
The fact that they don’t extend this reasoning to Trump tells you what we all know already about double standards. But HRC is so tone-deaf she misses the clear implication of what would happen in her absurd hypothetical.
I love her comment that, “I live rent free in his head.”
Trump lives rent free in the White House.
Trump should leak them and make it look like China did Hillary’s bidding.

Big difference. When Hilly was running for President, she was a private citizen who had served in a position of trust and had destroyed (or thought she did) the evidence of her egregious violations of national security. Unfortunately for her, her boss kept records of her violations.
Also, it would be humorous if China put out copies of her emails and Bill’s for the last 30 years.

When Trump joked, she’d already erased her emails and her server no longer existed.
She just uttered the same words that President Trunmp did regarding Russia finding her e-mails and THAT was the basis of about 40% of all the boojit heaped upon AG Barr yesterday.

Yeah, I think the Dems are scared. You had that judge in MA who was charged with aiding illegals and that John Brown character who was bribed by the Chinese. I think Brown was identified and nailed by Huber, but Barr is the one who’s definitely willing to clean the whole agency up without giving a damn about his own career.

Further, one presumes her illegal unsecured civilian state department computer servers had long been disconnected from the internet. So what exactly were they “going after” and where? This is absurd. Along with everything else, but add it to the pile

It is obvious that China has information on her that would be very damaging if released to the public.
Like much of her past life, most of it likely to be criminal.
So why would a sane person make such a statement?
If she were sane, she would change the subject every time China is mentioned.

I know this is in the Mueller report, but how can it even be true?
Hillary’s server was shut down years before. Where were the missing 30,000 emails in July 2016 when Trump made his joke? The Russians knew where they were, but no one in the US did? Except for Weiner’s laptop turning up a couple of months later, the emails were supposedly gone forever.
They already have everything she had on that illegal server.
