What did these cry baby snowflakes do before Facebook came along?

Gee whiz...go to the Dollar Store and purchase a notebook.
Write down your thoughts.
Wait 48-72 or maybe 96 hours, then re-write your thoughts based on the updated information.

Forget Fakebook...the Zuck is selling your history.

The problem is that anyone thinks they “need” a Facebook in the first place.

I don’t see the problem, as we in our household have never hand an issue with Facebook.

But then again we are smart enough never to have joined.

Same thing with Twitter. They make their money on selling the connections within social networks, affinities, and interests. If the data is corrupted from true actions (base truth in the ai training lingo) then it’s not a good data source - you’d have to normalize everything rightward to account for the leftist tilt of the data. You’re never going to be able to accurately model (and surf the wave of) any meme that is outside of the leftist orthodoxy. That’s lots of market left on the table.

And data sources are getting to be the real secret sauce for training ai’s.

I used to like Xanga. It was a social site that was suitable to the sort of things I prefer to do on line, that is, to write essays and travelogues that get commented on and critiqued by other users. I made real friends on Xanga in Việt Nam and Thailand and Burma and have met them in person since. Most of the users, though- ones I never interacted with- were the lollipoppers who put up what they had for breakfast and what clothes they were wearing. When Facebook took off they all "migrated" over to FB and Xanga became unviable and raised its fees to astronomical levels for an internet social site. It shut down shortly after. I have a FB page because my daughter set one up for me and my Vietnamese friends all discovered it. I am not comfortable on FB at all but I do keep in touch a bit with my VN friends when I am in the US with it.
