Why We Shouldn’t Expect Christine Ford to Show up at Any Hearing
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

What more do we really need to know here? – In case you’re still thinking that the tale being told by Ms. Christine Ford has any credibility to it all, take note of this actual reality about the case:

Senator Hatch Office ✔ @senorrinhatch These official letters from the 4 named by Dr Ford—denying any knowledge of what Dr Ford has alleged— serve the same purpose as sworn testimony.

We remain hopeful we’ll hear sworn testimony from the 5th, Dr. Ford herselfhttps://twitter.com/shannonbream/status/1043676938487955456?s=21 …

Shannon Bream ✔ @ShannonBream Committee source says they’ve contacted five people alleged to be at party. 4 deny any knowledge of the party and allegations. 5th person - Dr. Ford - is the only one who has not provided them a statement. #Kavanaugh

9:06 PM - Sep 22, 2018 8,694 6,362 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy

So, Ms. Ford has claimed that there were five people at the party, and named the other four by name. Each and every one of those four people has now written letters to the Senate Judiciary Committee denying any knowledge of the “party” in question.

Now, add that to Ms. Ford’s own claims that a) she was drunk as a skunk, b) she doesn’t know where the party was held, c) she doesn’t know the date of the party, d) she doesn’t know how she got to the party, and e) she doesn’t know how she got home, and the inescapable conclusion anyone with the ability to think in a rational manner can reach is that there was no party and she is probably lying. There really is no other reasonable way to look at this.

Perhaps then it is completely and, like, totally fitting that lead attorney for the pathological liar Andrew McCabe announced on Saturday that he has joined the gigantic, amazingly expensive legal team for which someone is paying on Ms. Ford’s behalf. (Gosh, isn’t it odd that no one at the New York Times or CNN is working to find out who that might be? Why it’s almost as if the fake news media is afraid of what they might find.)

That’s right: Mike Bromwich has now joined the growing list of high-dollar leftist activist lawyers representing Ms. Ford in this matter. It is quite interesting that Ms. Ford feels the need to bring in a high-powered criminal defense lawyer to help protect her here. Man, it’s just really hard to see why that might be the c…oh, wait. Nevermind.

Also, note the last sentence in the tweet above by Shannon Bream: “5th person – Dr. Ford – is the only one who has not provided them a statement.” It is also key to note that despicable Senator Dianne Feinstein, who received the letter from Ms. Ford that started all of this back in July, still has not been willing to provide an unredacted copy of the letter to the full committee.

What do these two facts tell us? They tell us that, despite the ongoing delay-tactic machinations by her crack, huge, expensive legal team, Ms. Ford probably has no intention at all of showing up to testify. Think about it: Would you? She is telling a story that, even if it happened, was 36 years ago. She is the only person telling this story, which has huge, suspicious gaps in it. She has zero supporting evidence of any kind and even people who describe themselves as “lifelong friends” of Ms. Ford do not support her story in any way.

While Chuck Grassley and Mitch McConnell continue to go along with her lawyers’ stalling tactics under the pretense that she is making a “credible claim” that must be heard, under no circumstances are they going to allow her to testify without being under oath and penalty of perjury. Oh, and by the way, any written statement she provides the committee – most likely including the unredacted letter – would also be provided under potential penalties of perjury.

See where this is going? See why Bromwich, the high-dollar lawyer for the guy who got fired from the FBI for serial perjury, just joined the legal team?

Ms. Ford is nothing but a potential witness to a confirmation process. Nothing more. Dozens of other witnesses have testified during this particular confirmation process, and not one of them felt the need to retain a high-powered criminal defense lawyer or an array of high-dollar attorneys that rival the legal team hired by O.J. Simpson.

Really and truly, what else do we need to know about this case?

While her team of expensive lawyers will no doubt continue their stalling tactics with Grassley and McConnell, at the end of the day you should not expect their client to ever actually show up to testify. Because the retention of Bromwich shows she is very, very concerned about what might follow if she does.

That is all.

One of the most fundamental aspects of a fair trial is discovery. Whether criminal or civil, the opposing sides show the other side what evidence they intend to present, in order to give the other side the opportunity to challenge that information.

Considering that Feinstein is hiding the letter, and Blasey wants to make Kavanaugh testify first shows how deveptive they are being.

Yoo'd think with all the lawyers in the Senate they could figure this out, but they are most likely not the brightest lawyers.

Why are there not Americans turning out in droves to support Kavanaugh??

Not all Americans are paid activist living in mommies basement, like progressive do, we have jobs...

Not to worry...Americans will turn out in droves on election day...

That is when we send a message.

I think the dems seriously miscalculated on this and will pay a heavy price in November...

I think you are on the money. Unlike Thomas Kavenaugh cannot play the race card and shame these bastads. Thomas’s statement was a masterpiece but it was the “high tech lynching” that saved hm.

Don’t count on her being a flake if she shows. She is a soldier for the left. She scrubbed her social pages for a reason. If she shows she will have had almost 2 weeks of coaching.

All that may be true, but at the end of the day, all she has is a story from 36 years ago with absolutely zero evidence to back up her claim.

The three senators on the fence can say, "she had her say and it's a compelling story, but in this country you are innocent until proven guilty, that proof never materialized"

I think all three will vote yes...

There's no letter.

Grassley, the fossilized fool, rather that immediately demanding an unredacted copy has, instead, allowed himself and his committee to be led around by the nose for the past week; stepping to the tune called by the DIMS/Media.

You have one job, Chuck--And you screwed the pooch.

Exactly, she’s been working on this since July when Ricki Siedman got involved. She’s going to give a command performance. Grassley and the wimps on the GOP side, will agree to enough of her terms that they will not be able to cast much doubt.. If she does 60 minutes tonight, you’ll see how staged the whole thing is going to be..

She will ask for blanket immunity.

From whom? The committee can't negotiate away the rights of Judge K. to sue her for libel if she perjures herself.

Some verses for this occasion:

Proverbs 26:24 He who hates disguises it with his lips, But he lays up deceit in his heart.
Proverbs 26:25 When he speaks graciously, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart.
Proverbs 26:26 Though his hatred covers itself with guile, His wickedness will be revealed before the assembly.
Proverbs 26:27 He who digs a pit will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone, it will come back on him.
Proverbs 26:28 A lying tongue hates those it crushes, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

Proverbs 12:19 Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Proverbs 6:16 There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
Proverbs 6:17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,
Proverbs 6:18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,
Proverbs 6:19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

God always says it best.

"e) she doesn’t know how she got home, and the inescapable conclusion anyone with the ability to think in a rational manner can reach is that there was no party and she is probably lying. There really is no other reasonable way to look at this."

Actually, there is another quite reasonable way to look at this. She could very well have a false "repressed memory" of the event that her booze addled brain actually thinks is true. This represents a way that the Trump administration can present the issue in a "compassionate" way (without the booze addled comment) to avoid incurring much of the wrath of the #me-too movement.

Ford claims that a) she was drunk as a skunk, b) she doesn’t know where the party was held, c) she doesn’t know
the date of the party, d) she doesn’t know how she got to the party, and e) she doesn’t know how she got home....

QUOTING DR LOFTUS, EMINENT MEMORY EXPERT: “It is certainly possible that it wasn’t quite as frightening or as violent
as she’s now describing it, as a violent attempted rape. It’s possible that it got more extreme in the course of her thinking about it.”

And the more she thought of a Republican pro-life Catholic on the USSC, the more violent her memories of the incident surfaced.
We may learn from Ford's now-flowering "repressed memory:"

<><> her attacker was heavily armed, had an AK-47 strapped to his back,

<><> pointed a snub-nosed Luger at her demanding she submit,

<><> was not into diversity,

<><> hated kale and green smoothies,

<><> tortured animals,

<><> refused to name the nearest abortion clinic in case she got pregnant

<><> and the most horrific.......

<><> insisted she use a plastic straw.

I think you’re right and is more likely to be the case than not. I don’t know how many here still have contact with their “old” (in my case) friends from college or high school...contact that has never diminished except by death over the past 65 years. Just recently we’ve had some interesting conversations about the old times and it’s simply amazing how many events differ in people’s memories. Tossing one another’s memories around and back and forth of a certain event doesn’t get the job done...solid proof works best which is what I resorted to.

I actually tore pages out of an old yearbook and mailed them to prove that someone had gone to school with us when one classmate said that never happened. Swore uphill and down, that person was NOT in school with us. Senior class picture, picture in all athletic teams, student council etc., and was met with, “HA - I certainly don’t remember that.” I didn’t care about the destruction of the yearbook as it had seen better days and was pretty beaten up..We all have too much stuff stored away anyway - time to clean it out.

Could have taken a picture with a smart phone of all those pages but like I said - keyword is “OLD” and don’t own such a critter. Computers are my speed and that’s it.

But face the facts. The GOP are weak

Flake & Corker will jump at any chance to screw Trump.

Normally, I would agree, but a SCOTUS pick I think transcend petty politics and personal grudges (except for McCain)

I don't think neither Flake or Corker wants a legacy after retiring of killing a GOP SCOTUS pick knowing the way the dems have manipulated the whole process to get them to vote no.

I doubt neither men want to be know as democrats tools.

Both enjoy the leverage they think they have now, but in the end they will do the right thing.
