It’s not just Pennsylvania; something is rotten in Sacramento, California, but it is the men who are wrong, not the Church itself
Outside of the Catholic Church, high-risk, sexually violent and repeat sex offenders are required to register on sex offender registries for life, and in California are listed on the Megan’s Law public website. Within the Catholic Church, homosexual priests are offered rehabilitation. Pedophile priests are moved to another parish and avoid prosecution. Why should or would Catholic parents send their children into harms way to Catholic schools inside Catholic parishes run by corrupted Bishops?

No, homosexual priests are not given counseling, but just told to behave themselves - if it gets public. Most of these guys were not pedophiles, but adult men who went after teenagers or younger men...or older bishops and priests who went after seminarians, which is unfortunately not covered by criminal statutes.
Homosexuality and the fact that it has become the norm is the symptom, not the cause. The collapse of the Faith with VII is the cause.

Why do so many cases date back to BEFORE Vatican II then?

The 1940s is when the abuse from these dubious characters began. They were told to rise as high as they could with minimal detection. They got into positions of influence. That is were the problem originates.
My prayers are for all of the good priests who were never a part of this operation.
Thanks for clarifying, but I didn’t say ALL the homos were pedophiles. I am saying the pedophiles are mostly homosexual because of the vast number of young boys that are abused. These pedophiles are gay men. There is a massive pedophile problem in the gay community and that’s why they create a huge risk to children when they are allowed to congregate. Don’t let them off the hook.
The rot had set in, and that’s one of the reasons that VII got through in the first place. But it was after VII that the situation and the coverups went wild because discipline and the Faith had collapsed. I lived through this all.
I have had arguments with gays who say the priests are all pedophiles, but most of the victims are in mid to laye teens which makes it more homosexuality than pedphilia. Gays deny that.it is in their interest to do so, but it does not ring true. Male teachers have preyed upon HS girls for years so why should gay teachers or priests not treat teen boys in the same manner.
Without the men there is no church.

If the Pope had any integrity he would excommunicate the lot and revive the old bell, book and candle ritual for Cardinal Theodore McCarrick. However, I expect the old liberal BS with nothing to be done.

I remember watching a TV movie in the 1970’s that pushed the idea of allowing gays into the priesthood. The argument that they pushed was that priests are celibate and it didn’t matter what their orientation was because they would all abstain from sex as a priest. I remember thinking that it was a load of bull then and haven’t changed. It seems it was only part of a plan to rot the church from the inside.
