Ruger LC9s Pro. Small; no external safety; striker fired, great trigger; and 7+1.

Assuming the woman in question is to be trusted with access to a full set of kitchen knives, the operation of an automobile, the use of safety matches and owning a DA/SA handgun, IMHO one of the best ones - and one which is perpetually hidden in the shadows - is the Beretta Px4 Compact in 9mm with the "G" type decocker. The "compact carry" variant of it is even better.

Review of options available, but your mileage may vary. It seriously depends upon what the woman is comfortable with. Hand size, strength, carry method, etc all play into it.

For once I have no criticism. Usually these best of lists include some losers.

I got a Ruger SR9c a couple of years ago and it’s great. Very comfortable, easy to use, compact enough to conceal carry should I choose to do so. And I’m guessing way more moderately priced than the ones mentioned in the article.

Mrs. L is quite partial to her Springfield XDS in .45. With the extended mag it’s 7 rounds. Nice little gun.

Semi autos for most women is a non starter

If they are that adept then they can shoot nearly same rounds as most men do
My women have revolvers

Because they need it simple and reliable
In a pinch
