For those who have ever had an election go against their wishes (and at some point, it must have happened to us all), its time to accept the harsh reality of what living in under a democratic voting system really means. Those that dont, do a disservice to the whole of society.
2016 saw two major upsets in the political sphere
the election of Donald Trump, and the Brexit vote. It was to be expected that the media and the losing side on both of the earthquakes would be angry, and that they would come back and campaign harder than ever; what was not expected was the vitriolic hate against those who didnt vote with them.

In your dread of dictators you established a state of society in which every ward boss is a dictator, every financier a dictator, every private employer a dictator, all with the livelihood of the workers at their mercy, and no public responsibility. And to symbolize this state of things, this defeat of all government, you have set up in New York Harbour a monstrous idol which you call Liberty. The only thing that remains to complete this monument is to put on its pedestal the inscription written by Dante on the gate of Hell All hope abandon, ye who enter here.

A Republic is two wolves and one well armed sheep contesting the vote.
It would sure be nice if something like Facebook let people share their political views without the powers of Facebook deliberately muting conservatives.
I liked the idea Trump won the presidency with so few international billionaires backing him.
With social media, he controlled the news.
We also have to do something about those 700 federal judges that make law.
Democracy=two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.
......the series TURN was about Washington’s spies in the Revolution was a reminder to me of how truly great Washington was but also that going back even 250 years American Politics has had this “HATE” in the mixture of it’s generational politics. Only back then, they actually fought and killed each other in droves daily. Indeed, more “Americans” died fighting each other than at the hands of the British.
And to court they go just like the Ca. vote on gay marriage and Al (the internet inventor) Gore. In the Ca. case the court overturned the voters but Al didn’t get what he wanted. Now, Muller is trying his best to overturn the voters but he ain’t got nuttin.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for lunch.

I’ve never really liked that analogy in re: Republic. IMO, a Republic is no better than a Democracy. Now, hear\read me out ;)
In a Republic, the sheep is merely voted by the People to decide what is for dinner (same outcome); instead of mob rule (majority of masses) via Democracy.
In OUR Constitutional Republic, one can bring up\in our inalienable Rights.
It is the *Constitution*, via Federalism, that limits even what those elected in a Republic may (not) do.
You’re right of course. I should have said a Constitutional Republic.
Leftists don’t acerpt loss
They attack. Cheat Lie. Use lawyers. Lie some more

Fortunately. We have the new media
We canjust turn them off
