Something is drastically wrong if the local police visited this guy’s home thirty nine times and the problem was not solved. All that would have been needed was one visit from one street smart cop.

The easiest way to prevent more school shootings is to remove the schools from the equation.
Forget the FBI, remove the federal government from the equation. For the life of me, I cannot understand why we expect the fedGov to solve problems that are much better and more easily solved by state and local governments. And especially given congress’ inability to get most anything done in a timely fashion, If at all.
The First Step to Preventing More School Shootings: Stop making them a safe zone have under cover people with arms on sites.

I agree. They have not done well with a number of recent acts, and in fact, the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that they are parties to some of it. Las Vegas, for example.
Better to call the locals, and maybe the state bureau of investigation/highway patrol instead.

How can the FBi possibly be expected to handle something like this when they are so busy with the politics of going after Trump and the Russians. Sad days in America.

They’re not supposed to have one. The American People were promised that the background checks would not be used for a national register of gun ownership.
The answer is to:
A) Drain the swamp
B) Enforce the laws already on the books.
This mass murderer should have already been in prison because the death threats alone should have put him there.

Lon Horiuchi knew he was shooting an unarmed woman, and he knew she was holding a baby. He took his sweet time to make sure he hit her.
His “conscience” is clear, and the FBI rewarded him.

All the students knew he was a danger beyond a doubt.. They told all possible authorities.. Those authorities FAILED them.. They need to start taking action themselves.. and Demand Protection until they get it!
The FBI could have run the name through state DMV records and found everyone with that name. Depending on whether the NCIS check was retained, there would have been a match with a firearms purchase.
Given the name, I doubt there would have been many doors to knock on to determine if any had a history of mental issues.
