What’s Wrong with Jeff Sessions?
IWB ^ | Chris Black

Posted on 11/10/2017 1:33:23 PM PST by davikkm

To start with the conclusion, President Trump is long overdue in firing his Attorney General Jeff Sessions and there are quite a few reasons for that. The thing is, Sessions has become a liability to Trump’s administration rather than an asset and, more than that, he’s become a liability to the United States. That’s why he needs to go, the sooner, the better.

It is true that both Republicans and Democrats threatened the President they will not confirm a new AG provided Jeff Sessions is given the boot. However, Trump can name an interim AG for an undetermined period of time, and that would solve the issue with an uncooperative Senate, at least until the midterm elections in 2018 when the RINOs will be ousted (hopefully).

Moving on with the story, the main problem with Jeff Sessions is that he refuses to investigate one of the biggest scandals in America’s history and definitely the biggest of our time: the Uranium One deal, which is completely owned by Barack Obama’s administration. Then secretary of state Hillary Clinton agreed (among others) to sell twenty percent of America’s uranium reserves to Russia, which is now touted by DEMs as public enemy number one. Hillary specifically signed off on the deal, i.e. she approved the sale of Uranium One to a Kremlin backed company.

“What is Trump thinking?!”

Who says he hasn’t asked for his resignation?

The swamp wants the appearance of a “Saturday night massacre” to justify impeachment. The reason why Sessions is not stepping down and Trump is not firing his ass.

He’s going to have to damn the impeachment torpedoes and gut the entire corrupt DOJ at once. Nothing, now, is more important than the restoration of the rule of law.

Jeff Sessions was an outstanding Senator. He really was. I would really like to see him stay in this Administration at some important level but he just isn’t the right person for the job of AG at this time. Not with his conflicts. It’s a shame too because during less turbulent times I think he could get some really good stuff done.

His hands are tied and he appears reluctant to be the bad (tough) guy when a bad guy is what is needed right now to be the good guy; if that makes sense.

Trump is being blackmailed with the threat of impeachment by the GOPe if Sessions is removed for any reason.

Which is why Trump is waging a Twitter and bully pulpit against the whole DoJ, to get some cover from conservatives in Congres to finally take action.

The first fruit of that effort is the new bill in the House to setup a new and separate special counsel, to investigate Mueller’s and Rosenstein’s ties to Uranium transfers to Russia, since Sessions and the DoJ won’t do it on their own.

Then and only then can the handcuffs on Trump be removed.

Jeff Sessions IS THE DEEP STATE! The moron needs to be sent packing back to a den of thieves. Wonder if the GOPe wants Jeff to step back into the Senate race in Alabama?

I'm scratching my head over this one ...

Are you suggesting that the same GOP threatening President Trump with impeachment over Sessions is setting up a special counsel to investigate Mueller and Rosenstein?

Seems like a complete disconnect there, no?

So was Whitewater, Travelgate, the FBI files, Rose Law Firm, cattle futures, emails...the list goes on.

Pardon me if I don't get unduly optimistic about a Uranium One investigation.

Wishful thinking. Mueller is one source of swamp makings.

The GOPe didn’t put the bill on the docket to call for a special counsel investigation of Mueller, even though Congress does have this right, separately from the DoJ. A brand new conservative Congressman in his first term (Gaetz) has actually introduced it, along with Ghomert.

The GOPe would have known they had that right, but didn’t enforce it. Public demand will likely lead to a vote, whether they like it or not. True colors will then be shown. I’m scoring the odds at 50/50 it passes the House, and then maybe just under 50% in the Senate unless we can apply massive pressure.

Tin foil hat claims Mueller is a good guy are very destructive to this whole process, and probably why they’re being floated on Twitter.

True that and good point. I still think he could have been a good AG under circumstances where his hands weren't tied right from the beginning. That really should have been brought up at the beginning of the discussion about him being the AG but I can see how things move fast, a lot of energy going on at the time, and a brand new, never politician, President coming in could make this conflict obscured.

If only foresight could be as clear as hindsight.

“President Trump is long overdue in firing his Attorney General Jeff Sessions”

PDJT is s pretty smart guy. He doesn’t suffer fools. If Jeff Sessions is still there, he has a good reason for being there.

It would be nice if he came out from under his mushroom once in a while and said “I’m on it” or something like that.

The more I see how GOP-E is acting towards Trumpan d now Moore the more I believe that Sessions was a plant from the get go. Sessions got himself into Trump’s campaign, then got himself as Head of Justice Dept, then ooops, he did meet with some Russians, need to recuse myself. The very fact that Dems and Repubs will impeach Trump if he fires Sessions just weaks of sabotaging Trump.

Do you find it odd that Rudy is quiet since Trump got elected? During primary and elections he was always on TV giving interviews and opinions and now, not a peep.

Yes, totally agree with you. Hillary and the DEMS will never pay for anything they did to the American people and this country. TRUTH.

Sessions is the only major official in the Trump administration with any serious history as an immigration restrictionist. If he goes, a chunk of Trump supporters go. This movement is not about Trump personally(except to braindead boomers), it’s about immigration.

A little bit but I do remember he had something else pretty big going on that he was involved with so I don't think much other than he has other things going.

I do think he would take the job if offered. Things are different now and the country is in serious trouble, Rudy is a man of the law and a patriot.

Recess appointment. Pick someone from outside the JustUs department to start cleaning out the stables. Anyone from inside is compromised.
