I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we were at war with Nazi Germany and soundly defeated them, and held up all their atrocities for the world to see as we tried and hung the surviving perpetrators at the end of WW2. Communism on the other hand, flourished in the shadows. Sure, there were some expose’s written about the gulags, but they never were defeated in as open a way as the Nazis were. Also, because we were allied with commies in WW2, our own propaganda portrayed them as somehow more benign than the Nazis.
It is. Just not by communists.
This is one of the easiest ways to spot a communist even if they have been slowly indoctrinated and do not realize what they have embraced.
Communists infiltrated the labor union movement such that labor saw communists as working in their interest against business owners. Adolf did not. Communists hate that.
Naive utopians embrace communism’s notion of the Soviet Man, the notion that people are perfectable. Adolf did not. Communists hate that.
Underachievers see inequality as not the result of life choices but unfairness in the marketplace. It gives losers an excuse for taking from someone else. Hitler had no use for losers. Communists hate that.
Bottom line:
Why Isn’t Communism As Hated as Nazism?
Because we defeated Germany and extinguished Nazism.
Even after the USSR fell, the world remained infected with communists. There are no Nazis left to hate communism. There are plenty of communists left to hate Nazism.

It all boils down to one simple fact: Because there are movies of the Nazi concentration camps.
Because NAZI’s (National Socialists) and communists are competing factions with the same goal, which is top down command and control of the populace by government.
Basically different lords battling over who gets control of the serfs, and who gets to live in the nice castles, and who gets to ride in the back of the shiny black limousines.
True that. We don't see anything showing how life was in the Gulags.
Communism is by far more evil than NAZIism because with NAZIism you see the danger coming clearly where with communism it is insidious and packaged under the gift wrapping called “socialism” that promises to feed and clothe everyone, it is only when once finds out that if you disagree with socialism under communism that you get hauled off to the death/work camps.
Reason Number 4: Germans have thoroughly exposed the evils of Nazism, have taken responsibility for them and have attempted to atone for them. Russians have not done anything similar regarding Lenin’s or Stalin’s horrors. To the contrary, Lenin, the father of Soviet communism, is still widely venerated in Russia. And as regards Stalin, as University of London Russian historian Donald Rayfield puts it, “People still deny, by assertion or implication, Stalin’s holocaust.”

This gets it half right. While the largest ethnic group in the russian communist party at the time stalin were the great russians—the second largest group in the russian communist part at the time of stalin —were the russian jews. they have taken more responsibility for the mass murders in the old soviet union than have the russians.
but maybe the russian jews, the russians the chinese and the cambodians have dealt with their crimes correctly. maybe it is the germans who have totally gone overboard with the whole historic guilt thing. after all what kind of people decides to totally abort themselves and replace themselve with people who despise them as the germans are doing currently.
Because of the liberal brain washing camps known as universities.

What horse manure. There have been incidents throughout history where conquering armies have slaughtered the population of entire cities, men, women, and children. The only thing different about the "Holocaust" was the updated mechanism.
Because academics, the press, and the entertainment industry are all full of communists or Leftist sympathizers.
Nazis never promised free stuff.
The Reds never lost a physical war and had their crimes laid open to the world and the physical evidence of their depravities availible does not compare to multitude of images of the death camps and their victims and survivors. The Nazis also kept voluminous written and photographic records which fell into our hands. Nothing like that is available from the Reds.
Also the international nature of the communist movement required extreme efforts to hide the depravities and rewrite the history. CPUSA members and fellow travelers went to great efforts to create an illusion about the USSR and Stalin. He was not a dictator, but a Hard Driver of his people who needed his discipline to achieve the true socialist paradise.
It is hated by those that live under communism.
Because 1) Nazis are associated with Hitler and white supremacy and 2) there are so many “minority” actual communist leaders.
People still deny, by assertion or implication, Stalin’s holocaust. .................................. Tell that to the millions who were taken off the streets, or dragged out of their homes to disappear in the Frozen North. They still find mass graves of murdered slave laborers preserved in the frozen ground. When the Germans entered Russia in WW II, they were welcomed by those in Eastern Europe who were under Russian Control. We believed everything the Russians told us, since FDR had enough Stalin Sympathizers in our Government, in our wartime research and development departments, and our state department appointees looked the other way. Stalin Good, Hitler very bad, even though after Stalins death a lot came out, he was apparently forgiven by the left. So what if 26 million were killed, it was a mixed group, it wasn’t just one selected part of the population. Yup, tell that to the Ukrainians.

Stalin imposed “Russification” on the Soviet Union, uprooting minorities who lived in their lands for centuries and scattered them about, while moving ethnic Russians into the best locations. This of course despite the fact that Stalin was an ethnic Georgian.
But then again, Hitler was Austrian, and not German.
