Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday that hes pushing President Trump to allow people to buy health insurance across state lines.
What I would do, and what Ive been talking to President Trump about, is I think we should allow people to buy across state lines through health care associations, and actually I think the president is going to do this on his own within a week or two, and I think this could help millions and millions of people get affordable insurance, Mr. Paul, Kentucky Republican, said on Fox News.
Its not a federal program, and it doesnt cost any money. This is what Republicans ought to get behind instead of a big government boondoggle, the senator added.
Mr. Paul said the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, known as ERISA, could allow Mr. Trump to authorize groups of people to buy health insurance across state lines. He argues there is an interpretation Mr. Trump can use to justify allowing inter-state insurance sales, which he argued would dramatically lower the price of insurance and still protect those with pre-existing conditions.....

Phase two. Or maybe phase three.
Not really
Insurance pays the costs where you are, the entities out there can be independent.
This will bring back much needed charity hospitals.
And public institutions like state mental hospitals and homes for the disabled.
Because the government has told the doctors what they will be paid for their services. The governments risks are controlled because they have mandated a network and what that network can charge. Private companies have to go out and do that on their own. If a company is not currently doing business in my state and as a result has no network of providers set up then there is zero incentive for them to sell me a policy, regardless of how much I might want to buy from them.
The Tenth Amendment gives states the power to regulate insurance companies doing business within their borders.
What state has a high risk car insurance pool?
I believe that all insurance companies do. And since I have Cigna through my company then there is most likely a network provider in any state I happen to be in. But smaller companies may not have that, and they would charge their policy holders out-of-network costs for treatment.
And public institutions like state mental hospitals and homes for the disabled.
And you want your state taxes to go up to fund them?

_____________
State and charity funding.
Compared to what you paying now for the same care...it will be a drop in the bucket.
As a society we have to take care of the mentally ill and the mentally retarded. Good, clean safe places for them.
Not the current situations. Where we put them in mental hospitals, jails and group homes and the streets. Where one autistic kid costs the state millions a year in medical and caretaker expenses. Do you realize that some of them have two to three people working with them round the clock? Because they cannot be medicated according to the rules? That they go to special schools where it is a large daycare dedicated to teaching a kid who cannot function, how to read and function?
Lot of money being made off the mentally ill and mentally handicapped.
These are the factory jobs of our era. Dirty and dangerous.
Of course, those who have been paying attention realize that the Congress cannot even get its own plans through the Senate.
Concern trolls are what concern trolls whine about.
On another note, everyone here has a prime opportunity to do something useful...
Of course, they would miss a super set of opportunities to whine if FR goes belly up because so many of "the concerned" tend to have the attitude that their whine is everyone else's command....
Exactly, Trump has said he will add this feature later.
Someday. Maybe.
