Exactly. And that might be our saving grace: American’s exercising their God given right to not give a sh#t.
I don’t know if it would be a good thing or bad if more voted, but I have my suspicions. Supposedly the dumbest 10% of voters decide all elections, the swing voters. The ones that all the campaign money is meant to sway, the swayable with no guiding political philosophy they can rationally explain. I think if more voted it would just increase the swayable.

We already spend too much time and money on elections that for the most part don’t change much. 2016 was a rare exception. Unlikely to be repeated in my lifetime.
