Capitol Police Officer Crystal Griner — a lesbian in a same-sex marriage — was among those wounded during a shooting this week in the Virginia suburbs and received a visit from President Trump during his trip to the hospital to see the victims.
Griner was among the five people shooter James T. Hodgkinson wounded on Wednesday during an incident at the Republican congressional baseball practice. On the House floor, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) praised her as one of the officers who saved lives during the shooting where House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was badly wounded.
According to CBS News, Griner and Special Agent David Bailey rushed Hodgkinson despite their own wounds. After being shot in the ankle, she was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for recovery.
President Trump visited the officers at the hospital along with first lady Melania Trump, who presented Griner and her spouse bouquet a flowers, according to a White House press corps pool report.
Griner graduated in 2006 from Maryland’s Hood College, where she played on the basketball team. Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine is quoted a CBS News report as praising Griner for her work during the shooting.
“She is amazing, and she’s a hero,” Dine was quoted as saying. “She epitomized what being a hero’s all about.”
Trump also hailed Griner for her efforts in a statement in the Diplomatic Room of the White House shortly after the incident.
“Many lives would have been lost if not for the heroic actions of the two Capitol Police officers who took down the gunman despite sustaining gunshot wounds during a very, very brutal assault,” Trump said. “Melania and I are grateful for their heroism and praying for the swift recovery of all victims.”
Would be nice. Good cop regardless of the other noise.
Plenty of gays voted for Trump; he is no threat to them.
Dems are furiously working to avoid a repeat of the 2016 debacle, where non-whites and perverts simply didn’t throw enough support behind Queen Hillary. Many voted for Trump, and many stayed home...

When I first read that in a news item yesterday, I was disgusted. Not because she's lesbian; of course not. Because the story should be about her heroism, not about her private life.

One of the guys at the practice made the comment on how everybody else was running away. Except for the two cops that were heading towards the shooter. That takes a lot of guts and training to advance on a guy with a rifle while you are only armed with a pistol.
Yep. It’s the local gay paper. Of course, imagine the outcry if there was a straight paper, or a Christian paper. . .
Rank or rating is more important than sexual orientation. Addressing the sexual orientation as a determinate of this hero is indicative of forced propaganda on the part of the press.
The actions of distinguished service under fire as is being reported needs not to include how this person achieves orgasm. Tacky. Classless.

I believe that Trump is now, and always has been, pro-gay. So maybe she doesn’t profoundly disagree with him on every issue.

Of course if the ‘news’ was celebrated in a derogatory way, ‘they’ would be screaming from the rooftops about how ‘unfair’ it was.

Had he/she/it WON on its own merits and platform THEN it was disclosed what he/she/it wore during the day, it would have been called a ‘smear’ campaign.....

Agreed totally. But the Left makes everything about LGBT, rather than her just being a person, and a brave one, at that.
Am I the only person that is wondering why there were TWO Capitol police officers assigned to PROTECT Congressman Scalise and allowed him to get shot in the first place? What were these two officers doing that they missed a person in the area with a rifle? Were they sitting in their black SUV waiting to be dispatched by the 911 operator? Their protectee got shot!
The Left are great at ruining every f’ing thing they touch.
By insisting on bringing her plumbing habits into the limelight, they instead decide to purposefully alienate some who might otherwise support and admire her.
So the important thing this women did was be a lesbian? Why else even mention it? Did you mention that the male officer was a heterosexual in articles?
What does her sexual perversion have to do with anything regarding her job? If it does, then she should be fired.
