He’s going to be acquitted. Mark my words. People just like him, in spite of common sense. After all, who doesn’t like Fat Albert?

That's the problem with our celebrity-worshiping culture. People can't distinguish between the benevolent public personae of celebrities and the reality. How many jurors are sitting there thinking "Who could ever convict a good guy like Dr. Huxtable[or whatever his name was]"?

Women don’t come forward for a host of reasons. Challenging a powerful man who has legions of lawyers, media, fans, and other defenders might be one of them. Not wanting to be the focus of a media circus is another.

Wanting to be the focus of a media circus seems to be a prime motivator in those who make false accusations. It’s hard to tell with media spin, but IIRC, many of the most prominent rape headlines seem to have turned out to be from drama queens and liars.

Those who are genuine victims often seem to be much more reluctant.

Will he go free? Maybe, like OJ. But he is old, no longer funny, his brand is severely tarnished, so there are fewer people who will go to bat for him because he is no longer useful to them as a source of income or other benefits.

Do you or anyone you know have 40 or 50 accusers? Do you know of another famous person with 40-50 accusers?
How about the fact he has already admitted to drugging her to make her comfortable? Do his words carry any weight?

He admitted to drugging women. If it was consensual why resort to drugs? No matter what the surrounding circumstances you describe may have been, his resorting to drugs speaks volumes and overwhelms and exculpatory testimony.

Astonishes me how when cases like this pop up how many people on Freep actually root for the male. What century is this? Are we in Saudi Arabia?

When I read the note from the jury calling him “Mr. C” I thought, “he’s about to walk.”

Cosby is a serial rapist and serial rapists need to be burned alive.

Because I've seen it written...more than a few times...that there are women (and men) who enjoy it and,as a result,*do* consent.

3) It will make women think twice before they end up alone in A MAN'S home.

I always tell my dates "You know, I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but with all this Cosby stuff going on, you might want to bring a trusted girlfriend along with you."

Aside from my four years in the Air Force, I have worked for, with and supervised women (and men) all of my life and human characteristics were equally displayed by both sexes. In fact, I found women to be more willing to prove they could do something than many men.

You don’t understand.

“It will teach” rape victims. Hey, EVEN YOU could be drugged and then raped.

I find your post more than just insensitive: it’s cruel.

Have you ever been sexually abused by a very popular, beloved person? These women would not have been believed by their BEST FRIENDS at the time. Their best friends would have assumed they willingly went to bed with Cosby and made up the drugged and raped story. BILL COSBY???

I am very angry at your post.

Well do you know of anyone out there in celebrity land besides him with more than 5 people accusing them of a crime?
You know who had a bunch of accusers?
Sandusky.

Do you or anyone you know have 40 or 50 accusers?

first off: you need to differentiate between ordinary celebrities and billionaire celebrities.

An ordinary one might live in a $10 million mansion in Beverley Hills and have a net worth of $20 million.

A billionaire celebrity might live in a $200 million dollar mansion.

Who do you think a slimey lawyer would advise a client to go after for an *easy* $2 million...a settlement,of course, that would include an ironclad confidentiality clause?

There is a distinct possibility that this is *all* about $$$...a situation featuring many slutty women and many equally slutty lawyers.

A *possibility*,I said...not a certainty.

If it's the word of one woman against one man in an alleged rape case, there is no reason not to believe that the man remains innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I've seen too many cases of of women regretting consensual encounters and turning them into accusations of rape to think otherwise.

On the other hand, when there are dozens of accusers, all unknown to one other, combined with the accused more or less acknowledging past instances of drugging women, you'd have to be a complete idiot to think that there is a shadow of a doubt, never mind a reasonable doubt of Cosby's guilt.
