My dad gave us F’n idget kids 50 gallon drums to get inside and roll down the hill. The original fidget spinner.

I am subbing this year and the item has just hit our school big time. I had to confiscate them to the angst of the students (proclaiming their ability to reduce stress with them) until the end of class. Forget the stress. . .their attention span on the lesson was nil. . . Note taking??? Not possible with these students. . .they are using both hands. In one study hall I witnessed 5 kids passing the spinner among them. If you check out the end of the article they have been banned in schools in many states. . . I can see why.

A friend of mine does this, and it’s really entertaining. She’s not quite as good as the girl in that video, but the things she does with her hoops are just wow!

These things remind me of a clip from candid camera or something where they left some bolts and nuts on the counter of a dry cleaners or something. The person would ring the bell, someone in the back would yell be there in a minute. The person waiting would start to play with the bolts and nuts and none of them complained no matter how long the wait was

It is an interesting concept psychologically. I have always spun my phone between thumb and middle finger in 180 degree flips. People in our office meetings spin their phones on the conference table and one guy flips his pen around the back of his thumb.

Gives them something to occupy their hands while trying to sit still in school. In my day it was yo-yo’s.

Some of the boys in my Sunday School class have been carrying the spinners, and they seem to pay better attention while playing with it.

Finally got a fidget spinner today. :)
Went to one mall with several possibilities, no luck.
Got serious today and went to ToysRUs. Was told they recieved a shipment of 50 on Tuesday and by Wednesday they were sold out. Lady said they would definitely get more but did not know when... could be Tuesday, could be Thursday. I then stopped at a mini mall before getting back on the train and lo and behold a small Turkish shop in the corner on the second floor selling bags, sunglasses and cheap stuff like that, had three fidget spinners. Two were just white. This one has a fonts design and is made of ceramic. Works very well. Has a very odd feeling when tilting it while spinning. Will be good to watch soccer with. :)
