Another "big win" for the GOP
Last week, Dan outlined the insanity of the Republican partys apparent decision to let Democrats continue to run the federal show. At the time, the GOP was fretting about a possible government shutdown that could occur if Congress couldnt agree on a spending plan. Since most congressional repubs are terrified of a real fight, you started to hear talk of concessions almost immediately.
Now, theyve allegedly reached a deal that will fund the government through September, avoid a shutdown, and (you guessed it) give Democrats pretty much everything they want. For example:
I agree any House member that votes for this CR is not worth reelecting. I expect the Rats to take the House next election however we much keep the Senate even if it means electing RINOs. We just have to get conservatives on the courts.
The worst part is that if Trump vetos, they’ll override it.
So the choice is to go along with it and mantain what in party power he has or veto and keep us happy short term but lose all his leverage with Congress.
This is why the country, long term, is in irreversible decline, because there simply is no opposition party to restrain the Democrat Party, which is controlled by rabid anti-American Socialists, Communists, jihadists, globalists and other leftist ideologues. President Trump will do everything he possibly can to MAGA, but the decline is never going to be permanently reversed.
uh...ok. whatever you say.
BOHICA
I agree, this is not the real budget. No need to fight on this- save the battle for the real budget. I think it was a wise move for many reasons.
I will feel far different if things don’t go our way in September.
I had thought about that.
You’re a troll
There fixed it
You'll never get a reply from that one. He's posted articles from one exclusive source here for years - steering eyeballs to that site and its advertisers.

Don't be naive.
I am not talking about the feckless GOP Congress and putting my faith in them. I am talking about Trump.
This is a CR...not a real, actual budget. You don't fight over a budget in the middle of a fiscal year. You do it at the end of the fiscal year, so that new objectives can be laid out.
At the end of September Trump will fight for real cuts in the budget and eliminate all the pork and hopefully liberal programs and money to PP.
If the RINOs and Rats scream shutdown, he'll shrug his shoulders.
This is not an election year, so there's no risk to Trump or even the Republicans.
Ever hear of a tactical retreat?
How so? He only has money to play with for 5 more months.
Meanwhile, he'll look petty in opposition in opposing Trump's infrastructure plans, tax reform, even Obamacare repeal.
Because after all a bipartisan deal was struck to continue funding the government and Trump signed it, right?
Say you fund the EPA but close most of it down unused money goes back to the treasury.
If the Republicans in Congress were in charge of UN forces in Korea in June 1950 they would have tactically retreated to Antarctica from the North Koreans.
I hope you are right that Trump says shut it down, he might. The Republican congress will be utterly useless in the effort and I predict if he does shut it down the Republicans will be knocking Democrat congress critters down to get air time condemning Trump.
We got rolled and rolled badly by the Democrats, they still run the agenda in Congress. The only difference between now and 2009 is the Republicans currently occupy the prized offices in the Capital, otherwise the Dems run the show on the hill.
I’m not from Missouri but when it comes to Republicans keeping their word, Show Me because they have no credibility whatsoever having done one CR after another for the last eight years.
