Another "big win" for the GOP
Last week, Dan outlined the insanity of the Republican party’s apparent decision to let Democrats continue to run the federal show. At the time, the GOP was fretting about a possible government shutdown that could occur if Congress couldn’t agree on a spending plan. Since most congressional repubs are terrified of a real fight, you started to hear talk of concessions almost immediately.
Now, they’ve allegedly reached a deal that will fund the government through September, avoid a shutdown, and (you guessed it) give Democrats pretty much everything they want. For example:
Congress sucks.
And apparently our enemies have video of them doing it
This rots on the surface. Really BAD. The rot smells like betrayal. If so, game over.
Losing a fight so that you can MAYBE BUT HIGHLY DOUBTFUL participate in some future fight does not count as winning a fight.
It counts as losing.

Ryan is the key. He surprised and delighted Obama with more money for Obama’s Leftist projects than Obama asked for in the 2016 budget! Harry Reid was delighted, too, that none of the Democrats’ spending wish list was cut. Now Ryan does it again in this very late 2017 budget deal. How much collusion with the Democrats does it take by Ryan before the lazy, cowardly House Republicans fire him as Speaker? I nominate David Bratt from VA to take his place ASAP.
Its not popular to say it on FR, but Trump is a RINO, he just fights back. I voted for Trump very reluctantly and only for one reason really and that is the Supreme Court. If Trump keeps nominating real conservatives to all courts, I can live without the wall or other things. I would rather have the wall and a balanced budget, but the rule of law is paramount...
No one in their right mind is surprised that the Republicans caved. That is what the Republicans do, cave. The surprise happens when the Republicans stand tall. And stand tall they did for the Supreme Court nominee of President Trump[how I enjoy writing those words]. However, that is the extent of the Republicans standing tall for the remainder of the 21st century.
Congratulate a Democrat on the new federal budget. Money for sanctuary cities, planned parenthood, PBS, the National Endowment for the Arts, no money for the border wall, only half of what is needed for defense, a Democrat budget through and through that the Republican leadership loves. I wonder why we bother to vote in this country since nothing changes government? Democrats win, Democrats get their programs through. Republicans win, Democrats get their programs through. Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and company, disgusting.
Shumer just cut off President Trump’s head and pissed down his throat and you think things will change a few months from now?
I am Trump’s biggest fan and he lost BIGLY on this which is his first budget. If this was a Football game it would be 45-0!

It’s more than just the scumbag Ryan. The Government/Media/Deep State Complex, a.k.a. “The Swamp” has proven undrainable. It is said 50 House Republicans vote with the Democrats.
It’s going to take hanging people from lamp posts in DC to fix this government. And I don’t see that happening until the EBT cards and SS checks bounce.
So for all intents and purposes, it’s all over but the shouting.
Wait until Gorsuch makes a decision before you praise his selection to the SCOTUS.

If you think the Republican congress is going to take a stand on anything I have some a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
Come September the threat of a government shutdown will be trotted out again, “This isn’t the fight to have right now...” will be brought forth and the Democrats will continue to control the US government turning it further left. Right now, other than Gorsuch there is not one reason, not a single one to waste my time and vote on any of the Republicans in the US congress, they are a waste of flesh.

I am with you for two reasons:
(1) I really don’t have a choice.
(2) I really don’t have a choice.
I don’t have any hope that they will do the right thing in September. It will be too close to the 2018 election, the Democrats will filibuster, We will lose the 2018 election. There will be another excuse. But I will wait. I am rapidly approaching “I don’t give a d***.”, however.
Somebody else mentioned the rule of law. As long as Hillary and Lois Lorner are out of jail, we have no rule of law.
