There really is a .22 cal machine gun.
Youtube shooting sensation IV8888 has a strange little CMMG .22 caliber machine gun. Dressed up in safety gear he and his team are ready to see how long and how hot this .22 machine gun can run.
Firing from stick magazines and drum magazines also this little .22 caliber machine gun shreds a 55 gallon metal drum. Check out the heat signature off this weapon and suppressor during the test.
Shot after shot tear into the target with malfunctions starting to mound up as the gritty .22 ammunition leaves more and more fouling.
After almost 2,200 rounds this little CMMG .22 machine gun is really dirty and sluggish but survived without damages. See the full .22 Cal machinegun footage here.
Ask an AM180 owner...or Norrell 10/22 sear (which I have for sale), or a Tippman 1919 micro gun....those will probably last longer.
I like this set up better.
The Navy wanted a machine gun capable of sweeping and enemy ship’s deck for five minutes straight.
In 1895 John Browning was asked to see if his could fire for five straight minutes without failure. The test was done in Colt’s basement. Browning did the firing himself.
Enough linked ammo was provided for the test. After the five minutes were up, the gun had performed perfectly, Everyone was both deaf and astounded by the performance.
Browning himself was a little worried that the extractor might not make it but it did.
Wow, never even knew such a thing as the Tippman 1919 micro gun existed.

...and lots of fun:
AM180
Norrell 10/22 sear
...and don't forget the Tippmans!
plink
Says also something for the .22’s he using - no apparent misfires.
A decadent waste of a low-availability resource.
Federal AutoMatch is lead round nose, right?
Maybe could’ve gotten more mileage out of copper round nose (CCI MiniMag...which is STILL too expensive!)?
In the 70’s I had a cheap .22 semi auto rifle I bought from Montgomery Wards. After a box of ammo ran thru it the chamber heated up hot enough the rifle would cook off a round as soon as it chambered. A full 10 round mag would cook off in an instant at full auto. A horribly unsafe condition, but fun.
This would be good for squirrel and rabbit hunting. LOL
I’m convinced.
Fixed it. Literally.
Yup. Everything on that web site is childish.
