Men not marrying? How deep does "the problem" go?

I’m comfortable enough with my own company that I wouldn’t take the plunge without being dead sure of who I was tying the knot with. But at the same time, I believe God created matrimony for a reason. My observation of many men I know personally leads me to believe that a good marriage can help squelch a lot of faults in a person.

It's a definite risk. In my particular field, software engineering, there are plenty of Indians being brought in. I figure the best I can do moving forward is to try to specialize in a skill-set that foreigners being churned through a program designed to meet minimum requirements set by larger US companies aren't likely to have. I understand that there is still a need for people who intimately understand architecture to maintain and update systems written in largely defunct languages, for example, and I doubt that gets much focus in Indian Java-mills.

I worked as a laborer for some skilled tradesmen to pay my way through college. Far and away my worst mistake in life thus far was being so focused on earning that degree (with all the job stability risks that globalism has brought on STEM fields) that I overlooked a golden opportunity to get into the trades. C'est la vie.

I concur with the idea of a long term marriage. Everyone in my family has been married for longterm, however, that was not the case in my situation. While you may want a longterm marriage, as in my case, my wife had other plans. I highly suggest a very good prenuptial agreement. If the marriage last who cares if it doesn’t your covered. The deck is always stacked against the man when you get to court.

Work buddy got engaged to a girl in a wheelchair. I’d never seen anyone do that or know anyone who did. Sweet girl but man alive shes had like 30 surgeries before she turned 26. It’s been a major mindscrew for me to watch and I asked him “why” one day.

His answer?

“I know she isn’t going to up and leave me because she can’t, or decide she won’t need me when we’re 40 because she’ll literally always need someone.”

Couldn’t find a hole in that logic, but a heck of a way to run a railroad if you ask me.

My company recently removed a customer review from an older gentleman who was upset that the ‘lady’ on the phone spoke like a butch b!tch and not like a proper lady. God I hate political correctness.

There are many beautiful selfless Christian women out there who would be faithful and loving to her last day, like my wife. The trick is teaching your son’s how to discern that in a woman.
