Talk is already heating up that President Trump could have a chance to appoint a second person to the Supreme Court.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said this week that another opening could come as soon as this summer, and there have been rumors that Justice Anthony Kennedy, often a swing voter on the court, could retire soon.

Kennedy, 80, was nominated to the court by President Reagan....

If they clone a wooly mammoth, I’ll be better off than that russian guy and his miniature giraffe.

I’ll have a wooly mammoth as a pet, a ride, a tool and war machine...

Hell, I’ll even rent him out and make some money...

“He could get 4 total picks in 8 years. How the left will go crazy.”

The Left wanted the Court to be supreme arbiter of law in this country (over the House and Senate and will of the people).

Now that they have created this monster, enjoy the show as it turns on them...

I have. And I am trying very hard to be optimistic and hopeful. Gorsuch seems like a good choice, but, like Roberts and Kennedy, only time will tell. I was banned for months last year on this site because I dared not tow the line and not question.

For God’s sake NKAFM...

Stop doubting. Put your trust in the Lord. Trump is not a fraud like all the rest.

Since the escalator ride, DJT has not disappointed me. Ever.

Maybe even 5 or 6. He’ll do what FDR couldn’t do in four terms.

FDR appointed 9 Justices.

All Progressives, they undid decades of precedent and destroyed the Constitutional order as it was known.

It was a revolution.

Then Truman appointed 4 more, then Eisenhower appointed Earl Warren, one of the worst Chief Justices, ever.

I read yesterday that Justice Kennedy has not interviewed any prospectives for clerk positions yet, for the next session. Had not read that before.

Buzzi Ginsburg of course has major health issues. Time for her to step down. Enjoy the grand kids, etc. However, she has stated she would only step down under a Democrat President. And she seems tough as nails.

Indeed. I can see Roberts wanting to assume the Kennedy role and become more of a liberal because of it.

At least when Rehnquist joined a lib majority, it was to make it a 6-3 decision where he could write the opinion and limit the damage. Roberts would be a swing vote and want to be the "conscience" of the court or some stupid thing.

This is an incredible opportunity to attain control of an entire branch of government for decades. Far better then diddling with Congress.

I do put my trust in the Lord, but after 8 years of that muslim/commie bastard, my nerves are fried and my patience is weathered. I have been lied to by my local and national elected officials so many times, it becomes hard to trust anyone. And today is Divine Mercy Sunday. Perhaps your post is exactly what I needed to allow myself the ability to trust.

Earl Warren spent his career guilt-ridden over putting the Japanese Americans in camps and in many many cases seizing their land & businesses. Some of the agricultural land that was distributed to his political cronies was the best agricultural land in California. He tried to assuage his guilt by latching on to every liberal left wing cause that appeared before the court.

As convincingly explained to me by my late Japanese-American GOP Roosevelt hating mother-in-law who was in Manzanar. Her family lost what would now be a many multimillion dollar farm. $25k hardly made up for it.
