Political pundit Kirsten Powers appeared on CNN late Wednesday to discuss Bill O’Reilly’s departure from the Fox News network amid sexual harassment claims levied against him.
Powers told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that she had her own personal experience with O’Reilly, in which O’Reilly made remarks that many would have considered to be overtly sexist.
“I was thinking about an incident that had happened early on in my career there where I was on-air there with Margaret Hoover, who’s at CNN now, on a regular segment, we were on every Monday,” Powers said. “And he got Margaret’s name wrong, and Margaret said, ‘Hey, get my name right,’ and he said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, there’s a lot of blondes in this operation, I can’t keep you all straight. Megyn Kelly’s coming up,’ starts throwing all these blondes’ names.”
“And at the end of the segment, says, ‘Thank you for your blondeness,’ to both of us,” Powers said.
She then told Cooper that she complained to O’Reilly’s executive producer and demanded an apology, threatening to stop appearing on his show if she did not receive one. According to Powers, O’Reilly’s behavior was excused by a long list of network employees at Fox News, all the way up to former network chief Roger Ailes.
But in 2014, Powers herself was a staunch defender of O’Reilly after former State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf accused him of being sexist, even going so far as to pen a USA Today op-ed titled, “Bill O’Reilly is not sexist.”
“Sexism is a serious problem and a serious accusation. It’s true there are many people who dismiss women as unserious and out of their depth not because they are, but because they are women. Bill O’Reilly isn’t one of them,” she wrote in September 2014.
“I know. As a Fox News contributor, I’ve worked with him for eight years, including weekly segments where we often disagree heatedly. O’Reilly does not discriminate when it comes to expressing tough judgments. Anyone with a passing familiarity with his work knows this, which is what makes Harf’s accusation so irresponsible.” Powers wrote.
Powers clearly stated that O’Reilly’s character was being assassinated because of “trigger happy” Democrats who purposely look for sexism in everything.
Powers did not immediately respond to a request for comment on her change in stance.

Snowflakes abound. Is this what normal people complain about? Sexism? This wouldn't even raise my eyebrows. I have heard so much worse in the workplace from bosses and co-workers to females. I'm a guy, and I've had females pinch me in the butt from behind. Do I go running to post it in the media? No. Snowflakes abound!

This is all theater for non-Hollywood who want to be Hollywood (i.e. the media). I’ll bet O’Reilley wanted to retire & FOX decided to let him go out with a bang. This whole thing makes liberals feel like they won something.
No publicity is bad publicity. Fox gets a bunch of free advertisement for their new show, O’Reilly gets to raise hell crying “victim”, and tons of women who no longer need him on their resume can play the victim card and get free airtime. It’s a win-win-win for all parties involved. The only thing I hate is that liberals feel like they won something.

Not really. However, the media isn’t normal. I’m sure the narcissists use women all the time, and the women starting out don’t mind “riding” their way to the top!
Look at last year’s Democratic POTUS candidate ... she was a coattail rider / carpetbagger and nothing more. She was pretty happy playing cuckold (yeah, I know its a term for a man, but we haven’t seen Hillary’s junk have we) (ok, I threw up a little there) to POTUS Billy Jeff. God knows what she did before she met him on her way to the “top”. A gnat with a D after their name could win a Senate seat in NY. No real accomplishments in the Senate. Probably extorted her way into the SoS office.
That’s a “successful woman” in the eyes of the media! Now, extrapolate what she did to all of those women trying to get a start in media. Do you really think they play nice with them? Moreover, do you think these women really mind that they’re played with on their way to the top?
Quite frankly, I don’t get the impression that they care much so long as they’re getting paid well and their self-absorbed faces are plastered all over television. If a man takes a fall for treating women like garbage, they can safely pile on and vent.
There’s a reason they *really* hated Sarah Palin ... it wasn’t her ability to gin up large crowds and being an overall political threat to liberals ... it was her story ... she worked her way UP ... by all accounts, she didn’t turn tricks for career advancement nor did she use her husband’s fame/power to get what she wanted ... she WORKED her way up the ladder and blew all of those liberal women’s right theories out of the water.

The incident reported by Powers is neither sexist nor is it harassment.
Powers has been brainwashed by the spirit of political correctness, which induces its victims to accuse others of having intentions which are nonexistent.

I would put this down to joking.
What we have is weaponized sexual harassment and discrimination tools that have been given to incompetent and unstable (hysterical) females in the workforce. They view every workplace dispute with a male as an opportunity to use these tools to “win” any disagreeable encounter.
Example: Just over a year ago, at a federal agency I worked for, I was having a discussion with a woman about 40 (I’m 62) concerning public schools “fencing off” their playgrounds and open fields during non-school hours (after school was out for the day and on weekends). This “fencing off” was preventing the taxpayers from using the tax payer financed school yards and playground equipment for recreation at their own neighborhood schools.
She was arguing that this fencing off was needed to protect the students. When I pointed out that there were no students to protect on the grounds during non-school hours and that her position didn’t make any sense she became enraged and stated that if I continued with the point I was making she would file a sexual harassment complaint against me.
I immediately spoke with my supervisor (a woman) in order to preemptively protect myself & have it documented. Luckily the supervisor was an ex-Marine(BAM),of my age group, and she said “You did nothing wrong.”, and she just advised me to avoid her.
The point is, this woman, obviously unstable, knew she had this arrow in her quiver to use against any male who she didn’t like, irritated her, etc.
We have about two generations of women, and men for that matter, whose minds have been subverted, perverted and converted to this kind of insane, Leftist ideology.
The evil of political correctness is that it denies the individual’s will (the accused), therefore denying their humanity.
To understand that O’Reilly meant neither sexism nor harassment in his “blonde” comments is a first-grade level of understanding.
But evil degrades the wisdom of those who allow it. So we have many who follow the religion of political correctness.
