One Night in Bangkok is my least favorite song from Chess - a disco hit. But some of the other numbers, especially the ballads and a national anthem that closes the first act, are unbelievably lovely. I saw it on B’way - it was a huge flop at the time but the songs live on with many cabaret singers.

(Then they will have extra time available to listen to twice as many Abba songs, or maybe to listen to such classics as this and this.)
I had the UK release of “Chess” on cassette before they started producing the Broadway version which was a pale imitation. Lost the humor almost totally.
Still play it now and again.
I have the B’way version. The singing is superb. I’ve never listened to the London version which I think was Elaine Page. It’s a flawed show but had some depth and interest. Many years ago now - I saw it on a twofer with my best friend. Neither of us had dates on Saturday night! (Typical NYC story.)
Funny you should ask... Just checked youtube and some kind soul posted the entire original soundtrack with Elaine Page et al.
Enjoy
Thanks.
