Well, from the early 1880s, until a couple of decades ago, ALL of my family members lived in BIG CITIES ( mostly NYC and I lived in Chicago for a time, too ) and NONE of us EVER had bedbugs whilst living there!

I've lived in exurbia for a while now, on a largish number of acres, and NEVER have had even one bedbug. Spiders, ladybugs, stinkbugs, other nasty bugs too,but nary a bedbug; thank GOD!

Perhaps your theory is unsound. *shrugs*
