Glenn Beck defends Muslims in wake of new travel ban
CBS News ^ | March 16, 2017

Former Fox News firebrand Glenn Beck said of President Trump’s newly revised travel ban that he agrees that an Islamist threat exists, but he criticized the White House, Congress and the media for failing to explain the difference between Islamists and Muslims.

In an interview with Alex Wagner on CBSN Thursday, Beck, a prominent never-Trumper who supported Ted Cruz’s presidential candidacy, said that the vast majority of Muslims in America are “no different than Catholics or Mormons.” An Islamist, on the other hand, believes “that the Koran supercedes the Constitution or any country” and the country must be run by religious rule. He told Wagner that the fallout from failing to differentiate between Islamists and Muslims could have a dangerous cost: “We could see some sort of internment camp situation,” he predicted, “if there is a December 7th.”

Beck was referring to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. “ We could head someplace we’ve been before and we don’t want to go again,” he warned.

Beck, whose manner is now more soft-spoken than it was in the days when he hosted a daily show on Fox News, also worried about the president’s accusations that his predecessor tapped his phones during the election. Mr. Trump “has access to all the information he would need to prove it or not,” he told Wagner. There’s no reason to create bogeymen, he said, adding that the president “should be quiet” until he comes up with the evidence. This led to an extended plea for a clear and sane look at Trump’s presidency:

“We’re losing our faith in everything. It’s concerning to me that we’re now going down this road of ‘deep state.’(continued)

Is he a Mormon or a Scientologist?

He's a drama queen.

Beck would love nothing more than this. Same reason why he wanted Hillary to win: TO PEDDLE THE WARES OF HIS END OF TIMES SPONSORS!

This “sympathy” and identification people are having with Muslims is an excellent example of Stockholm Syndrome. Most people who have witnessed the 9/11 carnage, the barbaric actions of the jihadists, the actions of over 3,000 documented suicide bombers have no trouble identifying them as Muslims. They also realize that their interpretation of Islam has motivated them and molded their conscience. Rational people when considering this reality have an appropriate wariness regarding Muslims and do not “identify” with them.

Hey, Glenn. Mormon or LDS? Is there a difference? It’s not that hard. Muslim or Islamist. Get it?

I was in the car today and turned on SiriusXM. I thought Wilkow was on, but after a minute I realized it wasn’t noon yet. It was Beck and his fellow idiots giggling like schoolgirls over fruit or something. Does anyone really listen to that show?

For a week Sirius suspended Beck and had David Webb doing a show in that time slot. It was fantastic.

I’d rather listen to a dead radio than Beck...

At least dead noise is not idiotic...

Beck is WISHFUL THINKING (if we can call it thinking)...
he needs to learn a lot more about Islam and its history of infiltrating/immigrating/invading and conquering Christians, Jews, and other non-Moslem peoples.............please learn, Mr Beck, before making any more silly statements

Glenn Beck has to have an audience of about zero.He has to be starting to beg the nations airports to let him have every other day or every third day in place of CNN. Without the airports, CNN would have negative ratings because CNN directors and producers have to be watching FOX while they are taping CNN shows.

I used to listen to Beck en route to work. These days I would rather listen to traffic.

There was a time when he was the most important thing on TV. There wasn’t anyone else doing the kind of reporting he was doing. And frankly, I haven’t really watched Fox since they booted him.

So losing that platform clearly cost him. But something else is going on. It isn’t just that he didn’t like Trump. It took me a while to warm up to Trump. Its that his attacks on him have made so little sense. In fact much of his political posturing in the last couple of years has made no sense. Not just compared to, say, me, but compared to the old Glenn Beck. The old Mormon-quasi-evangelical libertarian-quasi-conservative Glenn Beck is taking positions that don’t really make sense for even him, or anyone else for that matter.

And when something makes no sense, that’s when I start to suspect that his investors are controlling his editorial policy. He is trying to hold it all together and this is the price. That’s just me, I suppose.

Yes, its a sad end for a guy that was once deservedly on top of the world.
