President Trump exploded on Twitter early Saturday morning, blasting former President Barack Obama for allegedly wire tapping his phones before the election.

“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” he declared.

“Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” he added.

Trump has the authority to declassify almost any classified material, and could substantiate his accusations if he wanted to.

The Saturday-morning Twitter storm was striking as Trump and Obama had largely appeared to paper over their differences — at least publicly — since the election.

Ok, so did they use the meeting arranged by Valerie Jarrett between Sessions and the Russian Ambassador as the justification for their narrower FISA request, which was then granted? Does that time line fit?

Do you have any evidence that FISA sanctioned the wiretap?

FISA only applies to foreign entities and their agents. Obama would have to make the case that Trump is a Russian spy to take this to FISA.

If all the evidence he has is a phone call between Mike Flynn and the Russian ambassador then this is a clear abuse of power.

What do you make of this? It seems like Trump is correct even though the wire taps may have been legal. Maybe Trump has his own Deep Throat. My guess is the Dems used the Russians for ditry work but the Russians double crossed the Dems and Trump was too smart to take the bait. You don't succeed in snake pits like New York and Atlantic City if you don't have street smarts.

No I don’t have any evidence. Please don’t misunderstand. My point is exactly what I said previously.

The crime by Obama (in my humble opinion) is obtaining the wiretap under false pretenses. All details need to be exposed.

Obama alleged then candidate Trump had dealings with foreign (Russian) banks. I want this exposed as false.

I don’t think he can be jailed for wiretapping when a court authorized it. I do think he can be convicted for presenting false info to the court in order to obtain the wiretap.
