A prediction: when the “Wall” along the southern border begins to be constructed, the left’s professional activists will implement an extensive disruption campaign.
It will be modeled after the Keystone Pipeline protest (that involved a makeshift city of 10,000), but be more mobile and flexible, spread out along the border that marks the path of the wall.
Protestors will stand in the path of construction, just at activists have, in the past, chained themselves to trees in the Northwest to stop logging.
At night, other operatives will target the Wall for destructive sorties. Those may occasionally include the use of light explosives, easily smuggled from Mexico.
It will be the American version of the French Resistance, only this time fighting for fascism against freedom. It will be less lethal, but not necessarily bloodless. Look for a logo like that of the French Resistance.
Meanwhile, protestors will block primary and secondary roads that ICE vehicles travel to remove illegals from the country. They’ll set junk cars afire, and deploy some of the same traffic blocking tactics used this summer at Trump rallies, but more aggressive. Say, a hijacked gasoline tanker truck set afire on a critical bridge.
When families are sent back South across the border, a select few will enter an “underground railroad” effort, like that used to smuggle downed Allies fliers out of France back to England in WW2. Legacy media, complicit with lawbreaking, will support the resistance. Imagine a 60 Minutes special tracking the movement of Juan (arrested for a non-violent felony), Maria and their two small children, deported and then transported up through Texas with the help of Tom and Betty Carlson, Lutherans from Brownsville, Texas.
The aim will be to soften the resolve of people and provoke them to call for their Congressional representatives to vastly soften the enforcement of immigration law. Legislators will initially propose resolutions to stop “the disenfranchisement of immigrant families.” The liberal media will broadcast full-throated support of the Border Resistance Movement (BRM). (Will we see “#ImmigrantLivesMatter”?)
The religious social service organizations (501(c )(3)’s), now receiving millions from Crony Capitalism, will send teams of “missionaries” to help the BRM. (Protests with religious message signage, chants and songs. Expect Communion in the desert.)
I hope I'm wrong, but my guess is that this saga will dominate the news cycles for months.
And it will be 120 degrees from 10 miles west of San Diego California to Brownsville Texas from June to Sept., let ‘em have at it.

Prediction is probably right, but the way to stop this nonsense is to crush these protesters with the full extent of the law. Jail time. Prison. Big fines. If you treat these criminals with kid gloves you will embolden them. No mercy.

I’m sure many of us have thought ahead and reached the same conclusion as this author. I know I have.
ICE and the Border Patrol are going to have their hands full during the construction of the wall. The President may even have to send in the National Guard to keep the peace.
Won’t much border crossing through the chain of protesters and with all that attention there.

The Wall is being built under the auspices of National Security.
And it’s ALL Federal Property, Federal jurisdiction.
Interfering with a Federal Officer carrying out his duties is a felony, and I have no doubt Trump will insist it be prosecuted as such.
It won’t take long for that word to get around. Just ask the rioters in DC from inauguration day. 237 of 241 have been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on rioting charges...max penalty is 10yrs and $10,000...assuming they didn’t hurt anyone. Or, that nobody was hurt in bringing an end to it.

Yep! You’re looking at The cities along the border between Mexico and the US that are hardcore DemonRATS... My city mayor has already said they will fight the wall along with the Mexican mayor on the other side...in other words they’re going to make it hell for the construction company and probably threaten their lives as well! ! I am telling you because I know my city and their love for illegals...there are plans already to make it difficult ... It’s going to get really nasty and I’m wondering if Trump and mostly the spineless republicans will have the stomach!
I agree the prediction is right. But construction will be occuring in many places simultaneously. They will have a hard time blocking more than a few. And Trump will prosecute.
There’s not going to be any “wink, wink, keep up the fight” comments like there was from Obama.
I doubt they have the heartiness to brave that part of the country. And the courts in those parts would think nothing of it to ring them up for felonies.
This will be federal territory. Feds can easily move large crowds of protesters. They have all sorts of resources.
If this is a border issue he can send the regular Army.
