Remember that painting of protesters in St. Louis who have cops, depicted as pigs, pointing guns at them? The disagreement over the painting seemed to come to an end last month when the Architect of the Capitol concluded it violated rules for art hanging in the U.S. Capitol. Today the Hill reports that Rep. Lacy Clay will file a federal lawsuit against the Architect of the Capitol seeking to have it restored:

The painting was hanging in a hallway near the U.S. Capitol until early January when GOP Rep. Duncan Hunter took it down and returned it to Rep. Clays office. Rep. Clay returned it to the wall several times, even as police organizations around the country wrote letters protesting the painting.

Is this all this sphincter cares about.
Get rid of him
And this is supposed to inspire people?
Reported by the NYT ----- Art School Apologizes for Painting of Mayor / Published: May 15, 1988
CHICAGO, May 14 An art school apologized in advertisements appearing in Sunday newspapers here for exhibiting a student's portrait of the late Mayor Harold Washington in ladies' frilly lingerie.
''All educational institutions encourage students' freedom of expression,'' the School of the Art Institute said in full-page advertisements in The Chicago Sun-Times and The Chicago Tribune.
''Regrettably, in the use of his freedom, this student created a work that had the effect of insulting the memory of an important leader, Mayor Harold Washington.''
The student, David Nelson, depicted Mr. Washington in a frilly white bra, panties, garter and stockings, holding a pencil and frowning.
The Mayor died of a heart attack last November.....(rumors were rife, that, when examined, the Mayor was wearing ladie's lingerie under his suit---the inspiration for the painting).
The painting was hung in a students' exhibition at the school but was confiscated by the police Wednesday when black aldermen stormed in and said it disgraced the city's first black mayor and threatened public order.
The apologetic advertisement carried the names of Marshall Field 5th, president of the Art Institute of Chicago's board of trustees, and Tony Jones, president of the School of the Art Institute.
The Mayor.
Replace it with a painting of Democrats as jackals, problem solved.
......what is he wearing under his suit?.....
That's up to the voters...and since he represents a very large portion of the demographic most likely to think the picture (it is NOT art) is cool, fool, he would most likely not be voted out or primaried very easily.
Few sane people want to represent his district in the first place.
Just another ignorant piece of shit, stealing as much as he can while he can and having fun with de cracka as he does it.
He's fully supportive of obamaphones, SNAP, Welfare Queens and pro-bono representation of the felons and miscreants in his district...and they are legion, plus he collaborates with that other horse's ass, I forget his name, every damned session on demanding reparations.
With the amount of felons he represents, it is amazing that he can garner enough legal votes to be put back in office, time after time.
But since the dimwitocratic party is able to raise the dead in most places...he gets back in, time after time.
And we get poorer and poorer for it.
Just a fact of life.
I'll bet he likes pizza.
These guys are nothing more than racists. How would they like some of the 1920-1930 caricatures of blacks hanging in the white house. I certainly would abhor something like that. Well, this painting is nothing less than that sort of racism.
There were 2 officers shot by a perp in Whittier, CA yesterday. One of the officers was killed. I don’t know the condition of the other officer.
Let me see, the Congress is one part of the coequal branch of constitutional government responsible to set its own rules.
So, this asshat decides to ask another branch to mitigate a dispute within its walls.
Should go far. In any private sector career, he would be well suited to be a porter at a penguin lavatory.
That’s quite the obsession Clay has re that painting. Does he derive “pleasure” from it?
Pizza.......with tons of garlic.
They don’t call ol’ Lacy “garlic-breath” for nothing.
ROTFLOL.
I would call an official presser for the incineration.
Who is the indignant moron in the background?
With another absolute moron behind him.
Paging Congressman Higgins.....
