Trump revokes Obama’s final regulatory assault on the coal industry

Turning things around

Both Obama and Hillary made no secret of their disdain for the coal industry, and of their intention to do as much damage to it as they could. In fact, one of the reasons Donald Trump is now president is Hillary’s declaration that she was going to destroy a lot of coal industry jobs, which didn’t sit too well in formerly blue Pennsylvania.

It’s only the start of what needs to be done, but Trump is acting quickly where he can to reverse Obama’s regulatory assault on the coal industry, and that includes a bill he signed last week that eliminates the costly Stream Protection Rule:

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Government; Politics; Society
KEYWORDS: coal; obama; streamprotection; trump

Clean coal. We have the technology, we have the incentive, and now we have the legal authority to proceed with its wide application.

One obstacle remains. Carbon dioxide has to be declared to NOT be a pollutant. It is in fact one of the most vital components of our atmosphere that contribute to the continuation of life. And considering its low concentration (we are talking about only HUNDREDS of parts per million, virtually starvation levels for green growing plants). Carbon dioxide is PLANT FOOD, as vital in every way as minerals, various nitrogen and sulfur compounds, and water itself.

A lot of fake science is based on attribution of some mythical anthropogenic global climate change to the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. There is no known mechanism by which the presence or absence of CO2 may affect atmospheric temperatures one whit. Water vapor is both much more abundant, and able to affect the transfer of heat energy in the water and air to a vastly greater degree.

If coal burning will truly foul the air I can do without it. But with all the technological advances over the past fifty years, there must be non-polluting ways to use it.

Do you happen to know if congress or some true believer at EPA declared CO2 a pollutant?

The 50 IQ black-robed apes at the USSC ruled that CO2 is a pollutant. I fully expect that these fascist cretins will one day declare that breathing is a pollutant and humans need to be eliminated.

Good grief. I had no idea it was scotus. Therefore, the only institution that can reverse this destructive nonsense and so much more is a Convention of the States.

I’ve been musing about this and I think that this was all intentional for Trump. He might have even known a popular vote victory was impossible. If he had campaigned in CA, I am guessing maybe he could have picked up 500,000 votes? Just guessing. But it would have been a waste of time.

The first ice age was caused by the replacement of methane with CO2 and water vapor. CO2 has been declining for a very long time, and as you said is only a trace gas.
